Re: Better line for flopped bottom 2pair, please!

You could've 3bet that flop and folded to a 4bet but calling is fine as long as your attitude is that you are slowplaying. Villain could have AJ and trying to find out if his kicker is good on the...

Re: I\'m weak - continuation + flush draw goes awry

I can see AK cold calling pre and sp'ing that flop till turn an even going for a value bet on river.

I can see a pocket pair disbelieving you and testing you on the turn but his river bet last...

Re: Keep losing with AA. Do you like the fold?

I can't agree on your 10:1 favorite number if ahead. 7.6:1 if villain has JJ and much worse is villain has a str8 draw. I think this is correct.

You played poker instead of playing math - great fold

With enough information, it's ALL math.

Re: Keep losing with AA. Do you like the fold?

You played poker instead of playing math - great fold. You saved yourself 16bb's. Make notes on your opponent. The size of your raise defined his hand for you pretty well although he's short so it...

Re: Film Question

AM I NOT MERCIFULL!?!?

He is a great actor. Who cares what the Hollywood salesmen are trying to sell(Hanks, Pitt, Ford, Cruise).

Thanks for the great discussion all. I lost, of course, to 46s. It seems I gave the correct odds. Against an opp like this in the future I will likely raise more pre and overbet the pot slightly...

Thanks all. I lost stack to 68s by 3betting all in.

Re: Pots getting a little large for my TPGK

I hope you noted BB as a clinical idiot. There is a population of players who will make the stupidest calls if you raise their bet. Their call of this raise is not to be respected whereas most...

Re: Pots getting a little large for my TPGK

You would have tpKk-no-draw in position vs 2 on turn with a $75 pot. Most effective bets would pot commit you I think and I hate to lose my stack w one pair. You have contributed ~$25 to the pot so...

Re: Pots getting a little large for my TPGK

Unless they both have TJ you are screwed. Check and pray for the A of clubs.

Your reads make me think you just might have a chop at this point on turn but there's no way I risk it. I could see...

Re: raised on river oop-what to do?

My half pot bet on the river could look like a value bet from a very strong hand or scared bet from a moderate hand looking for value from a smaller 9, for instance.

His stats swayed me to call...

Re: KK - nonstandard line

Flop play is fine to just mix it up a bit but why do you change tacks on turn? You've paid the price of giving him a "free" card so why are you throwing away what you've paid for? If he has junk he...

Re: JJ - flop all-in call

I'm thinking, I've put 9 in, do I really want to risk 50 more when I compare, 1) my J flush draw w inside str8 draw w overpair to, 2) his possible, a) overpair w heart dominating me or, b) higher...

Re: Flop trips from sb... play along with me

I bet this like top pair strong kicker no heart(close to pot). This will make a draw pay, a K pay and maintain your bet-at-every-pot image. Betting close to pot might be just enough to have a...

Re: Ooops I missed. Line check?

On the river are you presenting a check-raise bluff then? I can see a lag calling that w a strong 9 but it's an edgy play imo.

I guess on the turn you don't put him on a str8 or 2 pair as he...

Newbie to tournaments still- Q: how common is it to sp tp on flop...

It seems that almost everyone except me slowplays top pair on the flop. Is this standard? They then seem to bet very light on the turn if it gets checked around. I understand the value of tp and...

Re: L1 bonus point tourney-reasonable to commit allin w tptk?

thanks. Can you or someone else refer me to a discussion of why one should determine bet-size based on the blind rather than the stacks around the table?

that would be awesome,
