Re: AQo with the King

Ya'll are too fancy. I bet both the turn and the river against average, thinking players.

I don't ever do this. I just picked up King Yaos Weighing the Odds in Hold Em...

Bet then c/r river is better.

[/ QUOTE ]

Why better? PPs won't bet the river. On the other hand, they probably won't call down after we c/r. I think they are more likely to the...

AQo with the King

You have AQo from MP and open raise. An average, thinking player at 10/20 calls you from the button.

Flop is A22r.

You bet, button calls.

River is a 4.

You check...

either lead flop + turn or do what you did

[/ QUOTE ]

I think I normally bet this flop just out of habit, but the more I think about it, the more I hate it. Checking is good.

If I believe I have the best hand, shouldn't I continue betting? What about if I bet to make sure he doesn't get a free showdown? Maybe he'll fold after a river bet?

Re: Another loose....no word can describe these loose players!

I dont really see much value in your river bet. Guys will often call down with their weak aces or jacks. Just check behind.

Re: BB Special with a C/R

Interesting hand. I think I might raise preflop, because he limped, so his hand is usually pretty weak, and I think we have significant value. I am not sure about the rest of the hand. I think I...

Re: Another odd one

I would've raised the flop. If UTG is TAGish, he's capping any A that beats you pf, and he's not raising A5 or A4 UTG. Make SB pay 2 with his weaker A or whatever he has. I can see...

Re: river value raise?

Looks like A7 or 77. A7 has 6 combos, 77 has one combo. He might even have K7.

The big question is whether to cap if he 3-bets. I think the answer is yes.

I think that question would...

I'd usually just lead the turn and fold the river UI if raised, costs the same as check/calling down and doesn't give a free card.

Re: Proper C/R? (LC)

Checking this turn is awful. Don't get fancy. If you bet a street, you almost never want to check the next street, intending to check raise. This is called a "sexy", and is a pretty advance move. ...
