Do you then check fold the turn unimproved? What do you plan to do if A. a J comes B. a 5 comes, C. a 6 comes, and D. a spade comes? I've been having some difficulties in short handed situations...

Hmmm, I might check raise the flop, and if he 3 bets either fold, or call and fold the turn unimproved. I don't think i've ever seen a 5/10 player cap preflop, and 3 bet a check raise on the flop...
