Re: Free Showdown

From my belief, the free showdown raise is used when you have a mediocre hand that you're going to call down anyway and have fold equity. Then you might be able to cause an opponent to improperly...

Re: I can\'t win.

I think the problem is not that you're too aggressive postflop, but that you have trouble seeing the slightly +EV situations that warrant calling more postflop. Your leak might be folding too many...

KJ Flops two pair, Ugly River Decision

Villan has been known to take stabs at pots otherwise reasonable. On a previous hand it's been checked twice to him on the button and I CRed him off the hand on the turn.

Party Poker 3/6...

Let\'s Discuss the CR Bluff!

The CR Bluff is one of the sexiest plays ever but also one of the hardest to execute. A couple of things I've found while attempting it:

- Unless you induce a bluff from the villan, villan will...

On Firepay's website, it says in order to transfer from a merchant to Firepay, just tell them your Firepay email address. Does this mean if you call Party you can just tell them to do it for you? ...

Implications of Paying Poker Taxes This Way?

I know the accepted way of reporting is to tally winning sessions and write the sum of losing sessions as an itemized deduction. However let's assume that all of my poker income goes through...

Re: Need help greatly. Can you see leaks in my PT stats?

VPIP 20% is too tight for 6max. There are a lot more profitable situations than you may think. 15% is pretty tight for full ring, I'd say the tightest optimal vpip in 2/4 might be 16%+. I think...

lol I can see the situation now. The gov't will see that I filed taxes this year and see some huge AGI that never existed before and notice that I don't have a job and am 19 years old. ...

Re: On small edges and self-defeating lines

Nice post. I've always held the same thought throughout my poker career. Making decisions that were within my comfort zone. Sometimes the emotional assurance and information we get while not...

Re: Who Pays Taxes on Poker Earnings? (POLL)

Yea basically I've got the same situation. I've accumulated money that I haven't been keeping track of and I have no idea how to report it. I am with the group of "ignorant" 20 year olds and have...

Re: 6 handed - optimal VP$IP and preflop raise %?

From my experience and what I've seen from shorthanded players, optimal 6 handed VPIP is around 25% to 30% with 25% being really tight. PFR about 15% to 20%. However, these numbers mean nothing if...

Re: Do bonuses affect taxes? (US)

I'm so confused about poker and taxation. So what constitutes a win and loss? Do you just tally up the total net amount gained/won be it profits or losses? Do you add up per month, or per year,...

Re: 77 with overcards on board

I'm check folding also. If the guy behind you bets and BB folds, even though you might have the best hand a lot of times, you won't be the favorite to have the best hand. Probability wins on this...

How about a 3/6 Full Graph thread?

Re: How do we like this line with AK??

Folding for 1 bet on the river here sucks. Even if your hand reading says you're beat, there's just too many possibilities here and probability wins.

Re: 3/6 JJ: Tough Flop Decision? What to do...?

I like the cap preflop advice. I actually considered it but then just called. After seeing the results (the turn card and showdown)I also came up with basically the same line as you, to call down...
