Re: Weird played AA hand

[ QUOTE ]
Don't bet the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed. The turn raise slows me down here, especially with all the aggression you have shown.

Re: What is going on here?

What makes you think he has 77 other than the river play?

Would a TAG risk checking the turn through if he had quads? I don't think so, not to mention not 3-betting when it got back to him to...

Re: What is going on here?

I keep changing what I think about the hand, but I think that it's ok for the most part. Part of me says 3-bet the flop, part of me says wait and SNG on the turn (I like the c/r after the 7 fell). ...

Re: K9s top pair, turn donk

I see, well then would you agree that this is raise or fold, as we don't particularly want overcalls here on the turn?

Or would we rather wait and see what the PF does with the J coming?

Re: A7soooooted. play along?

I call the flop and raise any non-paint turn.

Raising here does nothing to protect your hand, as the pot is offering almost 13-1. It worked out this time, but you gotta protect your hand somehow...

Re: K9s top pair, turn donk

I'm folding here most of the time because SB is LP and the PFR is behind you and this board is pretty scary.

Weak-tight?

Re: Am I making a big mistake here?

I think its fine.

You lost to a player who completely misplayed their hand, and I think that laying this down on the river would be a total disaster, barring a huge tell or him flipping his cards...

Re: Set Tens, Large pot, Out of SB

I really like your line the whole way through. I feel like giving a free card on that particular flop would make me vomit in my mouth.

I think the river is a classic check/call scenario. You...

Re: I Just Cold Called With JJ Preflop

I'm still deciding what if I like your line preflop. I love your flop line given your PF one, and I think that discretion is the better part of valor on the turn. Since the TAG knows that you know...

Re: Best Low Limit Book?

Two things:

Small Stakes Hold'em is the greatest low-limit book on Earth. Abuse it for all its worth.

This should go in the Books/Publications forum for more and better responses.

Re: ATs from the SB

[ QUOTE ]
This is a very standard situation where you want to check call A-high on the river.

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed.

Re: KJo

I definitely fold the flop and the turn on hand 1.

I also definitely fold PF on hand 2. I wouldn't want to be OOP against a good player with others between us with only a decent hand. I also...

Re: KJs in SB vs. button raise.

I think you must 3-bet a TAG PF here. I play the rest of the hand from there.

I would bet-fold the flop, and after I spike the J on the turn, I'm almost definitely seeing a showdown.

Re: 5/10 UB

I think if I'm going to play 88 OOP against a SLAA (which I want to), then I 3-bet PF, lead the flop, and cap at every opportunity. He could have been slowplaying a flopped set, though I can't see...

Re: A4s TP OOP

I think I like the flop lead, to see what the BB does. If he raises, you're certainly not upset if he protects your hand for you, but since he just called, I'm quite intrigued.

I fold the turn,...

Re: Can I call this river?

For me, this is purely situational. The more LP a player, the more likely I am to fold. Also, if someone else calls two cold, then I also lean more towards folding. If you have no idea, I would...

Re: Standard AKs

That's an insta-fold in my opinion.

I check the turn for that very reason: I want to see the river and a c/r here is a very real possibility, and you may be laying down the best hand if your...

Re: 100-200 I give up w/QQ fast

How would you play this hand if you had TPMK OOP against a PF3-bettor? I check/call, check/call, bet every time.

I thought the fold was very astute, because I would play AQ-AT here this way...

Re: Too aggressive with ATo?

Given the fact that the BB is a TAG (although he's really passive here), I would check the turn and try to spike that A. I certainly don't mind your attempted PF isolation play, and I would probably...

Re: First Hand Post....AKo utg+1

I'm definitely leaning towards a turn raise, because you really need to protect your hand here. I'm not thrilled by the villian's stop and go, but he may have something like KQo and want you to...

Re: Crappy river card whats my play?

Bet/call.

Please don't wuss out on that last card. He can be calling here with any number of things, because you described him as loose/passive. If he were weak tight, then you could consider a...

Re: AK suited, too passive?

I tend to agree here. If you don't bet the flop, what kind of position are you in if he leads out on the turn? If you bet the flop, then he donks the turn, it seems like a safe laydown to me.

Re: 3/6 -- value bet river?

3-betting PF was clearly wrong.

I'm not sure I like the flop call, because you had someone donk-bet into the PFR and PF 3-bettor, so you probably only have 3 overs and a BD draw.

I just call...
