Re: Overpair vs a maniac!

No, this looks fine, as long as you were planning on raising most turns. This turn card is as bad as they get, though, so calling down is fine.

Re: Slowplayed AA

I'm more inclined to fold the turn, than 3bet it. Either way, I think calling down is better than 3betting. If he doesn't have it, you give him a chance to fold, and if he has it, you lose the chance...

Re: A double post in this post (triple post?)

What do you guys think about posting in the first place? The first poster does make this more attractive, but I would still think it would have to be a pretty good table for this to +EV, unless it's...

Re: 10/20 AKo river fold

You're getting nearly 15:1 and he is a LAG. I think he is bluffing here often enough.

Re: Party 10/20

Against an unknown at 10/20, I lean towards check/calling down, but you really need a read here to "know" what's right.

Re: im a butcher

If he is enough of a maniac, then I like the turn bet. You will get raised a lot with ace high and worse.

I like the flop bet as well. Getting button to fold AK, AJ, AT or KJ (maybe even JJ or TT)...

Re: KQs ...cautious river play

I bet out here. CO might just have been taking a stab at it with a weakish hand, and even if he has something the spade might scare him. If you check, you should definitely be doing it with the...

No solid read, but villain seems no the loose/passive side (only 20 hands, though).

I was gonna check/fold the turn (?). Can I call the river?

Re: table selection

[ QUOTE ]
Players/flop % I personally do much much better at a tight table. I win far more money on a tight table over a loose one so that's the first thing I look for, however even the tightest...

Re: 10/20 single table video - edited

Looks pretty good to me.

Interested to hear your thinking on these two hands:

Maniac raises in the CO, super loosepassive coldcalls in the SB, you fold A4o. I would have called getting 5:1, and...

Re: Official December goals post

1. Must think before click.
2. Learn to love the fold button as much as the rest of them (More specifically, stop making so many [censored] stupid calldowns at 10/20, when I'm nearly sure I'm beat)....

My thoughts were that the pot was huge, that a 3 bet wasn't going to cause a person to fold.

Re: Semibluff to full bluff...

It's worth noticing that he raised UTG. This makes it less likely that he has K-high (KQ is possible, K9s maybe), and as others have mentioned, if he makes it to the river with A-high, he is probably...

Re: this felt bad

On the turn there is a really good chance you are behind. This guy seems kinda weak/tight, and he just raised you with 4 to a straight on the board. I don't think folding is unreasonable, but I would...

Re: AQ against TAG

I use this play a lot, but rarely against TAGs. There is a good chance, you will fold out the hands you beat, and get called down or 3bet, when you are behind.

Re: slowplay or raise?

You need to raise to give gutshots incorrect odds to draw. This is not a safe flop for your set against 8 opponents.

Re: Did I misplay this hand?

Usually he will bet a better queen here, when you check to him, so you gotta bet yourself. Don't give him the opportunity to valuebet his good hands and check behind with his worse.

Re: Preflop Quickie

No standard here for me. Depends on a lot of things, like:

a) What kind of hands has he been stealing with so far?
b) How does he play postflop?
c) What does he think of me?

Not folding, of...

Re: Is this a mandatory calldown?

3-bet. Only 3 combos of QQ and 3 combos of 88. There are 12 combos of AQ, 12 combos of KQ and 6 combos of KK. Even if he doesn't 3bet KQ PF, you are still way ahead of his range here.

Re: Horrible board, massive pot

First off you should cap PF. JJ has a HUGE equity edge against 5 loose opponents.

I'm folding to the river raise. I think you are good here never.
