Re: Little downswing and back..(poker pattern pic 50k hands)[lc]

Depends on the limit you're playing, but generally yeah 8k hands is a relatively short swing.

2PTK against LAG representing trips

Villain here is 77/11/2

The sort of player who would flat-call if he had a 9.

Re: How to play this?

Pretty loose PF call. I don't hate it though given you have some read on the opponent.

I raise the flop to try and take her down. If he calls, I take a free card on the turn for pot control and...

Re: Pay Day!!! (or is it?)

Just joking.

I stay away from the desk if you dont need the $$ right away. But make sure you bitch about it so it doesnt happen again.

Re: I rivered him! Oh wait a sec...

I guess the title isnt exactly right... but it was a weird hand nonetheless.

I rivered him! Oh wait a sec...

Villain here is 54/15/1.6 and while loose is not notably out of line post-flop. Sort of guy you like to call down and let him bluff off some chips.

I folded the river to his massive raise as I...

Re: I just went on tilt at NL200 and NL 400 and lost 3/4 my roll

Move down, build it back up with solid play.

Consider this an expensive lesson to learn from. I've had far worse (and actually financially painful -- life bankroll not poker bankroll) business...

Re: When did the Party tables become rocks? (50NL)

6-max is usually looser as well.

My average 100NL 6-max table pot on party is around 26.88 from my PT stats and 50NL 6-max is 15.41. So if you're finding those $30 avg pots at 50NL regularly,...

Re: NL $2 - Two Hands That Made Me Scratch My Head

First hand looks ok. I'm not giving him too much credit.

Second hand raise the flop and the hand will be easier to play.

Re: 100 NL - JJ - coordinated flop

I want to see some other respected posters give some thoughts on this hand as I think it's interesting and not a clear action either way.

I'm going to disagree with the concept of 'having to take...

Re: 100 NL - JJ - coordinated flop

Im having a hard time figuring this hand out as well.

Will a 40/10 player lead the flop if he flopped a big hand against a PFR? Probably not, slowplaying / checkraising would be the line most of...

Re: TS 1/2 100NL, \"deep stacked\"

If my opponent is acting abnormally weak, i'm fairly suspicious. If you really believed he was weak and not just acting it up, there's nothing wrong with stealing.

I prefer a flop raise here...

Re: QQ preflop decision against a perceived donkey

I think his looseness dictates the play here rather than the size of his raises. Whats the stats?

Re: Call this river?

I understand not betting the turn for pot control, but I think a turn bet might get you the information you want (if he raises, you can fold). It's a tight spot, but your turn check makes it a toss...

Re: River Overbet into a Tricky player (4 handed)

When you say villain is "fairly liberal" pre-flop, does that mean he's loose? Because calling with an often dominated hand like A7o out of position is fairly dangerous.

I dont mind the flat call...

Re: slowplayed AA hand

I don't mind this line for the reasons you state in your later post. If you've got him on a tight range like that, go ahead and play the hand like you know what his cards are. A typical party donk...

Re: Trying to de-donk myself

Fold PF in full ring, sometimes in 6-max too depending on table.

Nice flop for you. I'm probably playing too aggressive these days (definately too aggro actually), but I'm going to try and get my...

Re: Fired two bluffs into a LAP

I didn't say he wouldnt/couldnt fold. As i mentioned I had been beating on him a few times before.

Fired two bluffs into a LAP

Party 200NL

MP is LAP to a tee (40/25/0.xx sort of numbers). I've been beating on him a bit. This is his normal PFR and i'm playing variations of LAG and TAG. I will sometimes iso-raise him...

Note my OP in that I feel like I need to mix up my lines a bit in order to not state my hand and get zero value out of a big flop. I'm not advocating slowplay as a regular line,...
