Re: NL 200, KK w/position

I dont like the flop 3-bet. Do you think villain is semibluffing OOP playing this way? I think it's unlikely.

Possible hand range could be a set, overpair, or maybe TPTK, and your flop 3-bet will...

Re: Clear Decision with KK

[ QUOTE ]
Buddy knows the quality of player TAG is and TAG knows Buddy would only reraise this much with KK or AA.

I guess the only reason to call here would be if TAG knows...

Re: Am I overplaying draws again? 200NL

Your jack and flush could both be dominated.

I prefer your line to mine, and I agree that if my push is called I'm not happy.

However I think my hand is only really...

Re: Am I overplaying draws again? 200NL

[ QUOTE ]
There is no way a tight player like this one is calling with less than a set, unless he limped with a big pair.

[/ QUOTE ]

I take your point, thanks. However, if this is true,...

Re: Am I overplaying draws again? 200NL

Certainly I would have done if I had position, but I didnt want to risk being stuck on a blank turn OOP.

I guessed a smooth call would be better than a 3-bet, no?

Am I overplaying draws again? 200NL

I'm having problems justifying my donk-overbet-flop-push here (and in general) - do you think it would be better if I were to just call villains' donk raise on the flop?

I do make these moves...

Re: AA gets reraised PF by nitty player

3 bet allin preflop, surely?

An A or K (and maybe Q) on the flop will either kill your action or give you a hard time.

Re: Preflop reraising

Id normally make it $10-12 more for villain to see the flop. Assuming $100 stacks, you have cut down on villains' implied odds if he then decides to play something like 88/99/TT for set value.

Too...

Re: AA & Villain pushes on River

Is this full ring? Did you raise from the button or UTG? Anyway, it's probably a good fold.

Would anybody check behind on the turn? I might. Is that bad?

Re: How to play the nut flush with a pair on the board?

Bet the pot on the flop.

Rather than being scared to chase everybody out of this hand, you want to make the most money possible (ie stack) from a lower flush, a set, 2-pair, or TPGK before...

ps. If you want to swap hand histories with me, at either 200NL 6max or full-ring, then I'm game.

Re: I\'m moving down (LC)

Good luck PokerJoker - I'm currently in 100NL - 200NL limbo, where I can maintain an ok winrate at 100NL, but as soon as I go up, my downswing "re-emerges" and I drop 5 buyins. That hurts.

A...

Re: 400NL: I\'m seriously confused here.

Why didnt you bet ($35-$40) on the turn? Then I would fold to any raise.

Cheaper than check-raising /images/graemlins/smile.gif.

Re: 200NL - AA in MP

Thanks for the comments - it sounds like the hand is not clear -cut at all which is comforting to know.

I chose to smooth-call the minraise. The turn was a rag, and it was checked to me. I pushed,...

Re: QQ hand... bad river

Sorry, didnt realise Villains stack was so short - once youve made the raise on the flop youre both committed.

Re: QQ hand... bad river

I would raise much more on the flop, make it about $15, folding to a reraise. Check behind on the turn, and fold on that river.

As you played it, I really cant see opponent holding a worse hand...

200NL - AA in MP

I had no reads on the Button, except hes a loose goose, but other Villain(UTG) is pretty solid (25/12). His smooth call of the minraise on the flop worried me, but there not many hands that can beat...

I'm currently suffering from a 2-month bad run - but I feel things are starting to turn.

The downswing happened just after I moved up from 100NL, and I dropped 10 buyins....

Re: Torn on the river

If villain is so tricky I would just call. You dont want to play your whole stack here when you dont have to.

Cheers!

Re: $100NL AQ hand, good fold?

I think it was a good fold - of course it depends (as it always does) on your opponents hand range here - but if it is significantly wide, then you could consider a reraise preflop as the other...

Count me in!! Pokerstars would be my ideal venue, but any site is OK.

Only thing is that I'm running on UK time, but some early morning poker never hurt anyone. /images/graemlins/smile.gif
