Re: Hands from the WSOP (Hand #4)

Maybe C would expect B to check(-call?) on the river with A-high, while he would bet with K-high? Some players follow that pattern.

Re: $55 Rebuy River Play

Do you think SB will call with a lower queen on the river often enough to make this a good value bet? How much would you bet (I think the pot is 900)?

Re: Hand from WSOP 2000 NLHE

[ QUOTE ]
Appreciate the replys so far. So let's say I can, based on reads and previous action, lmit him to three possible hands, QQ-AA. If I do that, then is a fold in order?

Re: An Early Hand

I call this every time, as long as I have reason to believe that my overcards are outs.

Re: Which of these Books Do you Recommend?

One of the McEvoy books has a hilarious foreword by Phil H though.

Re: QQ in the BB, PP 15K (100+9)

I might fold this. If I had to guess I would put UTG+1 on JJ and UTG on AK, but either of them could easily have AA or KK. I think the crucial piece of information here is UTG+1s oversized reraise....

Re: What sites have HU ring games?

FullTilt have two player tourneys. They seem to be quite soft, but I haven't played them extensively.

Re: Moment of Truth

I would have expected A8d, but wouldn't be surprised by A4d either. Well played by you.

Re: What sites have HU ring games?

All the Cryptologic sites. Not many players though, and the smallest games are 3-6 I think.

He hesitates before folding to think about what has happened to this point.

I think this is the important lesson in the hand.

Re: AQ I think I\'m ahead here but I\'m a wuss

I'd raise to 100 preflop, expecting to take it down there. If the shortstack then went all-in preflop I would call him, expecting to see a low/medium pair that he was planning to play for set value....

Re: Party $50 +$5 Question

You can't stop and go when you have position on the bettor. I would fold this. The solid villain is short-stacked as well, and he bets out (not all-in) from UTG. There is no way you are better...

I think what you will discover is that in late position, when it's folded to you, you need to lower your hand requirements a lot.

Re: late in tourney, big stack but lots of chips at stake

With no read on villain, I would probably fold. Remember, villain has no read on you either - so he is less likely to be making a move on you.

And I agree, the less-than-all-in bet looks like...

Re: Level 3 - small pairs up front

I would probably limp/fold preflop and check/fold on the flop.

Re: a pivotal hand in a big tournament

Well played, the slightly oversized preflop raise also made me think JJ, but it's still a scary call to make.

Re: bubble with KQo

I might fold this if the big stack doesn't seem to be a very tricky player. The small raise is looking for action and I would expect him to show at least AK.

Re: MTT, near the bubble, pushing mid-sized stack with QQ PF

Don't be result-oriented. Generally, if you have 10xbb or less, push should be your only raise (unless you are trying to encourage action in a couple of rare cases).
