Re: Party 22 JJ raised after ragged flop
I think in the 22s that move is usually A2, or 33-QQ(whichever pairs he doesn't reraise pf). once in a while you'll hit a 5, but I'd pretend to think for about 10 seconds and push. Actually I'm...

Re: Step Higher tournaments gone
I know in the past they definately refused to refund freerolls to WSOP satellites, my friend eventually got his money back after months of back and forth complaining with people who didn't seem to...

Step Higher tournaments gone
Now that party got rid of the step higher tournaments, I'm curios, did they refund freerolls, or are they sticking to their policy of screwing over their customers with these issues?

Re: Need help at poker..
I'm guessing you're playing online, if so I'd recommend a try at B&M play if possible, or even a regular home game. Live play gives you a lot more time to think about hands and improve your...

Re: I need a good brainwashing
If that's not enough for you try Alan Schoonmaker's book The Pscyhology of Poker... it's fairly low content besides common sense, but helps reinforce a good mindset to be playing in.

Re: Top 3 basic SNG mistakes
1. Calling with +chip EV hands that are - $EV when I'm a small chipleader.
2. Go into push/fold mode a tad too early.
3. TV/AIM/work/reading while 4 tabling.

Re: Calling allin from mp with 84s
No one else calling gives him 450 posted in blinds in addition to his double up with only one hand to beat. If he waits a hand, pushes utg and only gets called by the BB, he still only has one hand...

Re: Calling allin from mp with 84s
Aren't you going to end up with 3 way action a large portion of the time? The BB is getting about 5:1 for less than 1/3 of his non-posted chips, and doesn't have to worry about getting bluffed out...

Re: Stars 6-max SnGs
I might like these better than bigger S&Gs, but I never played more than a dozen of them for a few reasons:
1. My biggest problem with them is that I'm usually multitabling and often also...

Re: So I folded AK on the bubble
For starters I don't think your first set of numbers is that accurate, but I'll assume it is. What do you think your chance of winning the hand is if you call? Maybe 60% vs. his distribution? Then...

Re: Testing ICM -- some questions for discussion
I think bot data would be far better than human data for this - you're looking for situations in which player A and player B have identical strategies (which can of course vary with stack size, but...

I don't have experience with any tracking programs except poker tracker, and it does seem intimidating at first, but the more you use it the easier it gets. Start off with the 1000 hand trial and...

Re: Is there any reason to open limp UTG?
How do you play small pocket pairs? Usually the only reason to play small pairs in a cash game is limp and try to hit a set. Also sometimes in an agressive game you should limp/reraise aces or even...
