Re: Am I Playing These Wrong???

Thanks for the advice. In general, it sounds like I played okay, just suffered some negative variance (it hurts a lot more in a 200+ BB downswing, but I am sure you have all been there before).

Re: Am I Playing These Wrong???

Yes, I know this is an obvious mistake. Down many BB, and not thinking clearly, I chose to do the unthinkable and slowplay KK against one opponent in limit hold'em.

Am I Playing These Wrong???

Below are four hands I just played. I have recently gone from killing the 2/4 game to wanting to vomit evertime I finish playing. Are these just bad beats? Am I misplaying these. Should I play...

Worst Downswing of my short poker career...Is this typical?

Let me start by saying that this post is mostly whining, but I am truly seeking some advice. I am a SS limit player who has torn up the lowest limits and has kept playing 2/4 ever since. This is...

(NC) Don\'t remember the name of the thread...

Someone did some work on the stats in the miscellaneous tab of Poker Tracker a while ago to determine if players were running bad. Does anyone remember the thread or have the link to it. Thanks.

Standard Deviation Question...

I feel like this should be simple and that I should know it, but apparently I don't. So here goes:

If my win-rate is 2.74 BB/100 and I play 375 hands in one hour and plan on playing for eight...

Re: Some Analyses of Poker Data - What Accounts for Our Winnings?

I think the same. I would much rather obtain a data set from someone who has many more hands and run a similar set of analyses.

Re: Some Analyses of Poker Data - What Accounts for Our Winnings?

An interesting point, however, this analysis is not just my own playing it is on data for 709 players who have each played over 50 hands. Thus, it should account for good runs and bad runs of cards....

Some Analyses of Poker Data - What Accounts for Our Winnings?

Well, we don't have a statistics forum, so I figured this was the next best place to post something like this. Note to the reader - This post is long and contains some statistical terminology. ...

Re: Another tough situation

I bet this flop. What hands does he 3-bet preflop with? AA, KK, QQ, AK, maybe JJ? In any case, I bet here and then if raised call, check call down. Unless of course you know he is a good player...

Re: Blind steal goes bad

Sure you might be getting odds to try to spike a pair, but what if your opponent already has your pair beat? Then if you spike a pair you are in an even worse spot. If he has been fairly tight, I...

Re: Difference in attitude based on where th BR is and how it got there.

Is it the bankroll issue or is there another factor in there? I recall other posters talking about differences between online and BM play. Often they complain they are more comfortable playing...

Re: A9o question

If there was less action in front of you, I would raise PF. With that many callers, I am folding PF.

I raise the flop for sure so I can get a read on what sort of hands the blinds have. I am...

Re: Q9s MP

Why on earth would you call this river bet? I know you are thinking don't fold for one bet in a big pot, but what could he possibly have that you have beaten? I am seeing nothing. You missed your...

Re: Playing a low flush

I think he made a straight on the river. Who knows what the other guy is calling with. I'd three bet in retrospect, but if I was sitting in the situation, I might have frozen up and only called.

Re: TPTK

On the flop, I am worried about a set. And I would probably play it the way you did. Not too sure why he slows down. I would look at his showdown cards and make a note about 3 betting a draw or...

Re: 3.5 bets cold to AKo

I go ahead and fold here b/c I am out of position and not suited. AKs, I am loving all the extra money in the pot. Not suited, I'll just muck it and get their money when I have a bigger advantage. ...

Re: 80% W$SD

I thought the point of playing poker was to increase EV, not to have the highest W$SD % possible. Having that high of an W$SD means you are losing EV IMO.

Re: How much do you stick to the preflop guide?

In my first 10,000 hands - exactly to a T, no deviations.

Since then, I make all sorts of plays depending on who is in pot, my position, and how big the pot is. It's always great when you get...

Re: B&M compared to Online, psychology

In my experience the biggest difference between online play and B&M play is all that extra effort you have to put forth in B&M to pick up your cards. It's so much easier to just look at the screen...
