Re: AA hand 1-2 nl

Pre-flop raise is OK, but what were you thinking check-calling a flop bet that's only 1/5 of the pot?

I think your only real choices on the flop are to bet out 25-30, or to checkraise.

At this...

Re: Mistake to push with this set?

I don't think you want to push here, unless you're content with the $12.

Given a loose passive villain, he's probably likely to try to draw out, so I'd raise somthing along the lines of 15-20. ...

Re: KK and a Donk

Even donks get hands every now and then. And not all of them slow-play them.

UTG's min-raise, and re-raise all-in just screams AA to me.

If their image of you is as a solid player, get out of...

Re: Was i justified in this call?

3 1/2 to one and you got your money in.

Given that you think this player is overaggressive, what's the problem here?

The only player you fold to is a total rock, or possibly an unknown.

Re: What the hell happened?

You didn't give the villain enough of a reason to fold his garbage. While the 1/3 pot bet should be enough, lots of people hang seem to hang around on bottom pair in lower-limit games.

With TPTK,...

Re: These continuation bets: Not Working!

I've been in a similar boat recently. I finally got out of it when I realized I was betting a little bit differently when I actually hit the flop. Instead of the 2/3 continuation, I'd bet a little...

Re: What are the chances?

Now that you've picqued some curiosity, I'd suggest you take this one up in the statistics room.

Re: What are the chances?

.000000236196= .0000236196% chance of it happening on two consecutive hands.

Assuming my numbers are right (see my previous post) that's roughly 1 in 500,000.

Re: there is justice in poker

No way. I won't miss a free chance at a monster. I've got enough discipline to know that 98% of the time I'll be folding postflop (including if I hit bottom pair, and maybe even middle pair), but I...

Re: What are the chances?

Lemme see....Odds of being dealt AA= .0045 (.45%)

Odds of turning a PP turning a set= .108 (10.8%)

So, the chance of doing it once is .000486, or (really small--four one-hundreds of a...

there is justice in poker

1/2 NL

I've been sitting at the table four three hours, just bleeding money on good hands. Some bad beats, some bad plays, and I'm down nearly 200 bucks, and am getting ready to call it a day,...

Re: Middle set in SB

Personally, I prefer to really push any set on the flop, when there are draws out there.

Given that he didn't raise preflop, I would doubt he's got JJ. So, figuring I'm ahead (but not necessarily...

Re: Tucson casinos

Looks like I'm going to have to polish up my limit game, then.

When I last played limit (almost a year ago) I played 3/6 and 4/8.

I generally prefer low-level NL (1/2, 2/4) and NL tournies.

Tucson casinos

Has anyone here played at the Desert Diamond or the Casino del Sol?

I'm heading out there next month, and want to know what games they spread, and if it's worth my while.

Re: How often does set over set happen ?

Given that you have an 11.8% chance of hitting a set, the chance that someone else also hit one would be, by my Flintstone math, about 1.4%. The chance that you're behind is probably slightly (and I...

tracker needed for Mac

Is there good PT out there that works on a Mac?

I've never used a tracker, but think it may help my game a bit. Thing is, I'm on a Mac. For the most part, I play at Pokerroom and Bugsy's Club.

Unethical? No--it's not cheating or anything else that's illegal.

Appropriate? Definitely not.

Given that players are supposed to be adults, it's immature. On top of that, it could hurt you...

Re: How do I play the River?

I'm assuming you meant he had $1000?

Anyway, what I would do depends a lot on how deep his stack is, and what...
