Re: AK suited in second hour

He played this like he had a big pair. I don't like just calling and seeing the flop though. You might need all 5 cards to catch that A or K. But, I like to gamble.

Re: UTG small stack...What is the play here?

That is what I figured, and that is what I did.

I got called by ATo and JJ held up. Too bad my AK didn't hold up to two all-ins who both had KQ and got their runner runner straight, but such is...

Re: Playing rebuy tourneys? Is it worth it?

People only play like this until the rebuy period is over. If you can catch a good starting hand you can push and people will call. If you lose you can rebuy. Before the break is a good time to play...

Re: AKo, how would you play this hand?

If you are looking to get to that final table, I say push here. I figure that the villan is raising 5xBB because he has a strong hand that can be beat. i.e. he does not want any callers catching on...

Re: Nearly blinded out and come back from the dead

Tried for a steal. I guess. This table was so nuts and I knew that I didn't want to see a flop with JJ. I knew that there would be no way anyone could call with out the goods, and after someone...

Re: mid/Late in tourney

Lets just put me LP for a hypothetical. What happens then? Can you justify a call there?

Can you make this call?
I cant really tell if this was a bit of desperation before the blinds hit from UTG or...

Nearly blinded out and come back from the dead

I am playing at the pokerroom 4000 frenzy. ($2 buy-in plus rebuys)

I had to leave for about 30-45 minutes, and got blinded away to 300 chips when I got back. The blinds were actually 150/300.

Re: flopped set against 3 to flush

Why limp with TT? I would be raising about 3-4bb + a bit extra for the limpers. I like a raise of maybe $10 preflop.

<font color="blue"> Sidenote: I just timed away AKo in a MTT to post here. I...

Re: Could he have quads?

I almost never give credit for quads when there are only 2 of the same cards on the table. Figure him for AK and call here. If he has KK, well, that's poker I guess.

Re: Possibly interesting EV conundrum in a vacuum

I don't see why anyone would give up the chance at free information here regardless of odds. I guess by calling the all-in before the flop you would have 5 cards to hit the K or A rather than only...

Re: Strange 77 hand against donkish bettor

I agree that the bets were so small that you couldn't really fold perchance that he was playing with low/middle pair.

Re: Bad play for that guy...

I would throw out a 3xBB PFR with JJ.
I would also pot the flop. Maybe 1.5x pot depending on the amount of callers.

Fold to a push on a spade.

Re: Flop result and turn action

As I see it, there is 60 or so in the pot when the action is to you ?

I raise to $45 and see where that gets me. Push/ pot sized bet on the river.

Re: gut check (goofy hand, low poker content)

Couldn't this villan be open limping with 78s if he is tilting? or 22-66? I will agree that a better spot will come up against a tilting lag than an unpaired KQo.

I think the frequency that you'll stack someone with a set vs. an overpair is not as often as is being given credit here. That and the chance of being re-raised behind frequently...

Reraising a straight flush draw? Interesting... I was just wondering what is your reasoning behind this.
