Re: Another interesting 2-4 hand

If the river is a J, I make the continuation bet on the river. My pair of 8's can't possibly be good anymore so I fold to a river raise here.

Re: Wraparound draw LO8 .5/1

Bullet,

I hear what you are saying and agree with the vast majority of it but there is something more to these wrap around straight draws when they hit.

I haven't entirely thought this through...

Re: 10/20 limit - totally lost in the Wynn mixed game

Wow...what a great way to start out your O8 career.

At first, I thought his preflop raise was just because he's "bloody British" and these American's-can't-possibly-know-how-to-play-this-game, but...

Re: Wraparound draw LO8 .5/1

Boolean,

This is a tough hand.

If you want to see the flop with this hand (and I think it's ok to see the flop with this hand) you need to have the discipline to fold this flop even though it...

Re: ck-raised the Short Stacks.. yes/no?

Yeah Felicia...you tell him.

Let's see...you have junk preflop. The only reason you are playing this hand is you are in the big blind. It's raised in front of you...

Re: PLO8 Another A A hand

Anyone else....? We've got two votes for raise and two votes for don't raise. lol

I'm tempted to play this as I would a hold 'em hand from early position that plays better with fewer...

Re: Reckless? or a good push? PLO8

This was an interesting hand.

I was not the hero in the example. I folded preflop.

But the hero is a 2+2er that I have played a bunch with and think very highly of his game.

This hand...

Re: Limp...then bet pot? PLO8 $25

Yeah, that's the kind of betting that I would have prefered if it was A A 4 or better to me.

So do you all feel the same way about A A (7 or 8) as well? Is that a good enough low to warrent a...

Re: PLO8 tournament - shortstacked hand selection

Sixfour,

I'm pretty sure the answer is not "any four" but more importantly, the question I would ask is, "how far away from the money am I?"

Would I push with JJ52? Probably not. But I could...

Re: PLO8 200 Short Handed Hand #1

Jorge,

I can't think of a flop that would come with a hand as strong as this that I wouldn't pot it on the flop with A A 4 in a heads up game.

Re: Beauty is only skin deep....

Re: Party $2/4 LO8 hand question

I understand your thinking on all streets, but sometimes you have to fold in this game when you get a bad card...even when the pot is big. There are plenty of times to bluff...but this isn't one of...

Re: Preflop Suggestions

Baxter,

Your final paragragh gets to the heart of the problem with playing limit O8 vs. pot limit O8 online. The pre flop rasies at 2/4 and 3/6 are generally not enough to make money when you...

Re: PL25 hand - would you fold this low draw?

I would have folded the turn bet. You have no prospects of winning the high side so you are essentially risking 4.50 to win around a dollar. I think it's fair to assume one of your two opponents...

Re: First PLO8, $25, jam?

Good push. There are a lot of river cards that will give you a scoop even if you are not ahead right now.

Re: PLO8 General Thought

Good point of course.

So far I have not been disappointed though laying down a nut low draw with a king high flush draw to turn action.

This is something I had trouble doing awhile ago...and...

Re: PLO8 General Thought

I agree completely.

I'm willing to lay down very big drawing hands when I have very little money in the pot because I know there will be situations during my session where I am way ahead.

I would fold in this situation unless I had opponents that were very close to "all in".

Re: Pot Limit Omaha 8 by Steve Ruddock

I think that advice is GENERALLY ok for a new PLO8 player.

I disagree with his "playable hand" selection as I believe in a passive game many more hands are playable that can be discarded for a...

Re: PLO8 50 - Anyone raise river to get High hand to fold?

Actually, I like the change up. Not how I would play it usually, so I guess that keeps them guessing.

Scare card comes on the river and you put in the raise after playing passively the whole way....

Re: Preflop raising thoughts and concerns

I've got to agree with the three bet idea. That "6" could end up being the perfect card to pick up 3/4 of this pot if/when another low card comes.

I don't think I would wait for the turn.
