Re: Saved by God?

This might sound like it was ripped from Pulp Fiction, but it's relevant:

It's not important whether God actually saved the woman from the flood, what is important is that she felt the touch of...

Re: Newbie help - Tracking pot size, odds

When I started counting pot size, held a stack of chips in my hand and dropped one every time a big bet went into the pot. After awhile, counting bets became second nature.

A shortcut to...

Re: Huge flop- how to maximize?

Based on your table image I'd check here and hope to check raise or hope it comes back to me 3-bet. (Unless your playing at PJ Pockets, then I'd bet out /images/graemlins/wink.gif ).

Re: Value bet the river?

I'd check this through vs. someone who you have no idea what they could hold.

Re: from an Ed Miller quiz...

Honestly, it depends on the specific players on this flop and my table image. You flopped a monster and want to build a big pot.

In some cases, raising is the way to do that, in others, calling...

Re: Long and heavy poker content

Okay, so your post is long and makes a lot of -- many debatable -- statements but it lacks a point.

I suspect you are wondering how to crush the 1/2 game for 5 bb/hour or are thinking that online...

Re: Rockets...Joke, Understanding suited connected cards

The reason you are met with such vitriol is because you are simplistically theorizing about poker concepts that have been written about and analyzed to excruciating detail by poker greats,...

Re: Not a question of IF but WHEN...

If you fold here, it has to be on the turn, MP1 leading this turn screams straight which means you'd be drawing dead.

Calling the turn means you are calling 2bb to see a showdown.

Laugh, fold,...

Do you really think that someone wouldn't have raised AJ, AQ etc pf if they had it?

Well, it depends on the player. A lot of people don't raise these hands pre-flop. ...

Re: When to Value bet when to not Value bet?

Hand 1. Don't bet. The 6 /images/graemlins/diamond.gif makes a lot of hands that people could easily be drawing to.

Hand 2. Don't bet. Hopefully your turn check raise will win you a free...

Re: QQ - pushing too hard or not enough?

SB shows a lot of strength here by capping the flop then leading the turn into the 3rd flush card.

Obviously, he wouldn't put you on the flush, but he has to put you on a high pocket pair.

Re: Live hand against a weak tight

I mean, you are likely beat here, it's just a big pot thing:

Since the pot is large your getting great value on a call anyways, putting chips in the pot isn't a bad idea, even if you end up...

Re: Live hand against a weak tight

I see your logic, but heads up on the river just isn't the place to make a fold for one bet. I mean 15 to 1. You're loosing so little value by calling it's worth calling just to see what he has. ...

Re: This is a clear call or would a raise have worked?

MP1 is irrelevant. Would MP3 wait til the turn to raise a set/straight/two pair, would he raise into this huge field w/ trips?

Re: JJ hand, what is a better line?

Your line is fine. Easy river fold.

I'd discount your turn outs to about 5, still an easy call.

Pre-flop is standard. Flop is fine.

This hand looks standard, what's eating you?

Re: notetaking in live play

No sir. One room I play in doesn't allow cell phones, but a buddy of mine plays Bejeweled on his Palm and noone says anything. He takes session notes on it as well, but not player notes.

Re: Daily Hand Post: interesting AK hand

I'm amazed that you were able to get this heads up by check raising the flop.

Average 7 card hand value...

I read an article that said the average hand in 7 card poker (hold-em) is 2-pair.

I've been doing some computer simulations and the avg. hand value I'm coming up with is in between 2 pair and 1...
