Re: Poker Superstars II First Event on Tv

I love how they spent so much time talking about how the luck factor was reduced to a minimum but they still have that terrible blind structure that forces preflop all-ins after a few levels.

Re: Waiting for turn - 2 examples

I raise the flop on both hands, especially the first. On the PP beginner tables, you flop something like that and you jam the pot like there's no tomorrow.

On the first hand, the gutshots will...

Re: $11: TT in Big Blind/ Flop OESD

With a loose player like this you could be up against anything from AQo where he has the A /images/graemlins/club.gif, a baby flush, 2 pair or better, or another ten. The T /images/graemlins/club.gif...

Re: the beginning

Originally started playing with my friends, then started playing online for play money. Eventually deposited $50 on Stars and lost it. Redeposited $100 and ran it up to almost $600 before losing half...

Re: I think i just played in the worst structured tournament ever... (LC)

[ QUOTE ]
I play in a weekly tournament at my local riverboat with a pretty bad structure as well. $20 buy-in with unlimited $20 buy-ins for the first 45 minutes. Each buy-in gets $500 in chips. A...

Re: I\'ll put you all-in

It's more badass if you ask for a count of your opponents chips, take that number from your own stack, and then bet that much.

Re: Greensteins tournament winnings

I don't think Barry really needs the money, that's why he gives it away.

Re: getting staked for a higher limit - advice needed

Are you both prepared for you to lose several buy-ins right off the bat, or will an initial bad streak sour the deal?

Re: Limit players - what\'s the worst BB loss in a day

[ QUOTE ]
-120BB the third day i played 30-60. Woot.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's gotta rough up your bankroll a bit.

Worst I've lost in a day is about 90BB which isn't too bad. Over a period of 2...

Re: HU Challenge

If anyone cares I was liberally raped by this dude. He kept getting pocket pairs when we decided to cap every street for fun so he ran away with about 25 cents of mine.

Re: degree poker in canada: straight flush!! yikes

Yeah that was really brutal. The guy thought he had the nuts and then the dude just flips over the straight flush...it was awesome.

Re: Is the 6-max community separate from the full-ringers...?

Hand values change, strategies change, position is more important, playing the players and reads are an even bigger part of your game. 6-max is quite a bit different from full ring games, it would...

Re: Was I right to slow down on the river?

No solid reads as I had only been at the table for a couple orbits, but UTG seemed to be pretty LAG, betting his strong and marginal holdings strongly. He plays a wide range of hands and turns them...

Was I right to slow down on the river?

Flopped trips, turned a full house, but with the action I thought it was definitely possible that someone's two pair had turned into queens full, so I decided to call down the river after the turn...

Can\'t win a hand, feeling helpless

I play .5/1 6-max on Pokerstars and I'm on a downswing. It seems as if I simply can't win a hand - I'm not getting many playable hands, and when I do I raise PF only to completely miss the flop or...

Re: QQ One overcard, multiway

I'd play it the same, and sigh when someone turns over K8o or whatever.

Re: Did I mis-play this? (AK hits trips, raised when flush draw hits)

3-bet the turn, start getting nervous if MP1 caps it. He could easily have a worse king.

Re: AK flops TPTK and I fold???

When you cap with AK before the flop, what else do you want to hit? You hit your top pair, now you need to protect your hand. You're probably good on the flop, but it's a scary one and one or more...

Calgary casinos

Some people call Calgary the Las Vegas of the north, so one would think that the casinos there are pretty good. I've heard good and bad things about some of the casinos in Calgary, but I have no idea...

River play question

I wasn't personally involved in this hand but it sparked a discussion regarding calling the river bet. MP1 believed that the pot was too big to fold for one bet, but the button felt there was no way...

Hitting your miracle card in a big pot

After reading Ed Miller's post about being aggressive in big pots, I tried to apply that here. Obviously the hand worked out well for me, but I'm concerned about my flop play. Should I have capped it...
