An overpair vs a raise from UTG

I don't think I like this line, and it leaves me stuck.

1.)What do I do here?
2.)More importantly, what is a better line?

Converter isn't working right, so I edited it slightly.

AKo facing a turn checkraise

Party 5/10. Opponent is a TAG, maybe tricky - haven't seen him get out of line though.

Playing 8 handed. UTG+1,+2 folds, villian raises I 3bet in the CO with black AsKc. Blinds clear out and...

Re: Personal Assitant EV Calculations

Re: Big stack play in NLH cash games

I just finished Pot-Limit & No-Limit Poker by Stewart Reuben and Bob Ciaffone. Someone else mentioned it so I figured I'd give you the full title.

It's good as far as explaining why you are...

Re: Money Grabbing Contest -- Strategy?

I think 10K sounds reasonable. Search for hundreds and stick them in your pocket, stuff as many $20 as possible into the bag as you go. Leave 1-2 mins at the end to count. Dump the bag in the...

Re: A Couple of Small-Pot Hands From My Session Last Night

I agree with what you are saying about being sketched out when someone gives you odds to draw on a paired board, but remember that the guy is described as a gambler, so you can probably give the guy...

Re: A Couple of Small-Pot Hands From My Session Last Night

The problem with checking the turn is that the flush is only going to hit 1 in 5 times. So why not throw a bet out there that he can call, even if it gives him close to correct odds to call. You...

Re: A Couple of Small-Pot Hands From My Session Last Night

I agree with you saying to bet at least the pot on the river. If he chased it that far, hes going all the way down.

I like the $45 bet on the turn. It doesn't give him as bad of odds as a pot...

Re: PP 100 NL AA hand.

My thoughts exactly. AJo Go All in.... what is the typical cutoff for the mid/high stakes NL forum. 2/4 NL with 100bb buy in is the lowest game that should be posted in this forum, right?

Re: Taking a shot

Isn't taking a shot all about quickly building a bankroll for a game that you are not currently bankrolled for? In that case I would tend to say to stay at the table for as long as possible, taking...

http://www.pokerhand.org/index.php?page=view&hand=18468

There was a lot of debate on this hand on my local forum.

What is the proper line to take? and why?

Should I chuck to his raise?

Re: hey, question about expected paid rake on low limit tables

I have paid around $215 in rake over 6900 hands at NL25(.25/.5). I may be more around $225, but i think it was $215 last night when I was using PokerTracker.

I'm making about 10-11BB/100 hands. ...

Re: Drawing Hand, Missed

I wasn't saying that you shouldn't call preflop because he has a pair or an A, maybe my post wasn't clear.

I'm saying I wouldn't play that hand preflop. Period. You need an amazing flop, just not...

Re: fairly routine?

I've got a way around this. You don't even need to know the answer to that question.

Fold preflop. What do you expect to do with this hand?

Re: Average % you see the flop in a 10 handed NL game

Agreed.

I do think, however, that somewhere around 18% VP$IP is in order for low limit NL. Extreme cases could vary quite a bit though. I play NL25, 4 tables, relatively tight, and I'm around...

Re: Drawing Hand, Missed

I don't like your action on any street. The guy raised preflop, hes prob got a pair or an A.

Preflop: Toss that junk.

Flop: You aren't getting good odds here to call and you aren't drawing to...

Re: NLH crash course for limit player!

Don't over bluff. Especially if your opponents are poor. You need a good opponent who will lay down a better hand to make a bluff work.

The only bluffing I reccomend is if you raise preflop,...

Re: Party NL25 hand - did I play this one poorly?

OK, so he raise out of the BB showing strength. You say hes a poor player, so he could have TT-AA, AK, AQ, KQ or maybe worse. The Q flops, he bets out into a large field(5 players). You raise him,...

OK so I could understand how this would contribute, but wouldn't those who are staying there for a long period of time and have big stacks usually be the better players?

I think what makes the...
