Re: \"I called because I was bluffing.\"

Had something like that happen in a home game about 8 months ago. Really poor player who really is only there to have a good time with his friends. Playing 7-stud, gets heads-up by 5th street...

Re: Any validity to this online tell?

I use the auto "check" function quite often myself, only checking "Check/Fold" on the really hopeless hands - I mean, I don't care if I think the guy is stealing my blinds from the button with crap...

Re: UKBetting GBP to USD conversion problem

[ QUOTE ]
The matter is complicated (perhaps favorably) by the fact that sites like UKBetting, Totalbet, and Littlewoods use a different exchange rate altogether, and the one used by those sites is...

Re: UKBetting GBP to USD conversion problem

[ QUOTE ]
The exchange fee isn't exactly hidden. Below is a quote from the Neteller site, taken from the small print on the "Transfer funds" page:

Indeed, no argument from me, I...

Re: UKBetting GBP to USD conversion problem

I'm going to do some quick math to show this:

£300 deposit, minus 1.9% hidden processing fee = £5.7 fee
£321 withdrawal, minus 1.9% hidden processing fee = £6.1 fee
£1 fee for withdrawal from...

Re: Number of outs: Common situations

1: Fold for cryin' out loud! ;-)
2: Pocket Pair -> Set
3: Single overcard
4: Inside Straight draw / 2-Pair (83 on flop of 83K, ie) -> Full House
5: Pair -> Trips/2-pair (83 on a flop of J84 flop,...

Re: Preflop from the SB quiz

[ QUOTE ]
Well I am odd man out I fold all 4 hands. Just sitting at the table for 2 hands and no real info I fold all 4.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not too odd, I would do the same. With no reads on MP or...

Re: Imperial Poker (SPAM?)

I can actually answer this question very simply, since I use unique email addresses for every poker site.

EmpirePoker & Pokerplex both sold email addresses to this outfit for their spams.

Flush threat on turn, fairly common situation

This seems to come up quite often in my games, and I'm wondering how others handle it. I only have played 9 hands with UTG+1 at this point, so I don't have any real read on him yet, although I had...

Re: bankroll adjustment for whoring?

I didn't realize you were asking about a RoR calculation.... you're right, that is probably far better suited to the Probability forum. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: bankroll adjustment for whoring?

Actually, I find it very easy to handle this - money I earn from bonuses doesn't count toward my 300BB "bankroll" figures. I keep track of my winnings and bonus money seperately, and only move up in...

Re: Best Features

Paradise's drink/food thing is just a gimmick, but it can be fun sometimes. Not exactly a feature I would be looking for in a site, however.

Party: Lots and lots of bad players. Clean, non-busy...

Re: Anyone else get email from Empire about running a bot?

Party is pretty much the only site that allows for this level of datamining, right? I know PokerStars, PokerRoom, Cryptologic sites, etc. don't store hand histories if you aren't sitting at the...

Re: Party Polo Sizing

That's what I thought too (XL was too big when I first got it), but the damn thing was 100% cotton - two cycles through the wash and air dry and the thing had still shrunk enough to be too tight.

Re: nanolimits - a waste of time?

When I first started out, I played at PokerStars .02/.04 and .05/.10 limits. I had $50, but I also knew that although I "knew how to play poker", I wasn't really all that good. Playing at those...

Re: Adjustment going from Party $1/$2 to $2/$4?

Ironically enough, I've found the exact opposite. At 1/2, I'm getting called down all the time, so when I don't get the cards, I take losses - I think all the loose players are playing on the 6-max...

I never change my style of play when I'm bonus clearing - I use the same style of play whether I'm clearing a bonus or not. The only thing I do do differently is that I will usually drop down to 1/2...

Re: Adventures in Bonus Whoring Pt 1: The Neteller Shuffle

I think after your first cashout from PokerStars (which seems to take a few hours), cashouts after that generally are the fastest around - often being in your Neteller account in less than a minute....
