Re: home game penalty for cussing - what to do?
This is just my two cents, but I think the whole hog cussing ban is too much. It's one phrase (and it's derivatives) and the person doing it is being an ass. Just make it clear that that phrase is...

Re: Home game--no smoking--bad host?
I've had a nonsmoking game attended by smokers for years. It's never been a problem for those who smoke to go out on the porch. We take piss & smoke breaks regularly for tournies and as mentioned...

I'm not a big Bud Jones fan but I think those look pretty cool, though I wish someone would do a variation on the theme and instead of having them look exactly like the WSOP chips, use that as a base...

Re: Flying with Chip Case
Maybe it's just me, but I'd prefer airport security give a second glance to a aluminum box full of weird metal filled discs. Sure it's easily explained but I want 'em askin' the question.

Re: for your anti-sematic home game...
It's anti-semitic (not to be a pedant).
FWIW the swastika symbol predates the rise of nazism. It's been around in various cultures (I believe originally from the Indian) as a sign of good luck. ...

Re: \"I raise 20\"
I agree with above.
We do "raise to 20" meaning make the total bet 20
"20 more" "20 on top" "bump to 20" etc. to be 20 in addition to the previous bet.

Re: Custom made chips w/ denominations defected?
Yup. In our tourney since it's fake money we have T$100,000 just to take the piss. There's also the side benefit of they're being no way to confuse the tourney values with cash values.
As far...

Re: Tournament format Stud home game question
There are so many betting rounds in Stud that I don't think NL or PL are necessary for tourney play. I just use a good general regular limit structure (vary for whatever $ you want):
Ante = 1 bet...

Re: Chips for .50/1.00 limit?
I agree with jojobinks above, spot on. It's the most versitile set up. At those limits a .50 chip doesn't really do anything for you.
The quantity break down seems perfect too.

Converting an old used fridge is probably the...

Technically you can't reveal the contents of your hand, though as pointed out you put in a little cavaet ("hands like"). The other thing is in my home game we're forever coffeehousing like this. ...
