Re: 3 handed stars 30-60. . .
It's not clear from your post if both players are still in, but against 1 player I think this is quite an easy bet.

Wow..threads get buried fast around here!
Anyways, I don't consider the play of this hand standard, as some of the posters seem to suggest. Against a typical opponent I would probably not have...

200/400 HU
Havent posted in quite some time, so here's a hand I played recently.
It's HU (SB is button) against a really aggro player. There's a lot of aggression going on to take initiative (so lots of...

I don\'t care about the hand.
When I read Tommy's post I didn't even care about the actual hand. Tommy's assumptions in this hand are not the same as in the initial post and even a bit contraditionary, because he is assuming a...

Re: 80/160 GAME AT BELLAGIO
I wish I could ever reach the Buddha-like state you describe. But as it is, I'm still too much attached to that damned thing in the middle of the table.
Forever learning,

Re: 3-handed 10/20 NL
I agree with what all the posters said. I thought button had an easy call getting a bit less than 1:2, knowing SB would likely not have AA or KK, and BB is likely to know that.
SB held 99 and BB...

3-handed 10/20 NL
3-handed. You're on the button and have both your opponents covered.
SB seems tilting. BB is a good player who isn't afraid to gamble.
You have QQ and make it 80. SB immediately moves in for...

Re: 40-80 hand #1
If this hand is played live in Vegas (where cap is 5 bets right?) then I see a lot of merit in 4-betting the flop.
The board is draw-heavy so I wouldn't rule out a draw when he 3-bets. He could...

Re: 400-800 hand 6 handed
IMO check-raising the flop is superior to check-raising the turn.
Since you will be defending your blind with a wide range of holdings, a flop with all medium cards could very well have hit you....

not many if any at all, to me calling the 3-bet and leading out on any non-jack,non-ace,non-king turncard would seem my most likable line.

Then there is not much to discuss.
So, what hands would you cap being the BB against the preflop EP raiser who just 3-bet a 9TQ...

3-bet the flop. I'm surprised you didn't even seem to consider that option (since you make no notion of it in your post).

I don't think it matters much for the discussion, but my opponent held a pair AND a flushdraw. His hand was Js9s. It would have been much more interesting to see what he had done with a hand like...

Seriously though; you have about as much information about this player as I had. He seemed a typical shorthanded aggro player. I only had played a few hands before with him.
So would you...

Thoughts
We all agree that there are only two real decisions in this hand. The flop 3-bet and the river check. There seems to be some consensus that the 3-bet has the potential of being a good one, whereas...

Pushing it too much?
Five handed 40/80. UTG, seems typical shorthanded aggro capable of making plays, raises. I 3-bet in the SB with KQ. UTG is the only caller.
Flop is A 9 5 two spades.
I bet, he raises. I 3-bet...
