I would bet more on the turn. If hes gonna call 180, he'll probably call 250-300. This also makes it easier to get more money in on the river.

The river check depends on...

Re: My own experiences...

Umm, yeah. Unless you're counting the chance of busting out and missing out on future +EV situations.

EV is EV is EV, long or short run

Re: 25/50, STandard Line?

So I guess you put the pf raiser on QT, JT, T9, all hearts after his push? Those seem to be the only likely holdings for his line if your fold is going to be correct. Is he the type of player that...

Re: AKs vs. Crafty LAG and 9 high flop

Why are you even thinking about calling? You honestly put him on a middling ace?? I'd guess two pair or top or middle set is more likely

Re: How many of the BIG GAME players are the real deal?

I think it's pretty clear that this is a case of "he's not good enough to realize how much better the best players are." For example, I always thought it was a little funny to think of how a lot of...

Re: I used to think Negraneau was good....

First, it was AT vs QJ, which isn't domination. Second, AK vs QJ isn't domination. Third, who cares if the craziest two cards fell on the turn and river? How many people would call for the same cards...

Re: Ok here\'s part 2:

I really get the feeling that BB was trying to isolate with his raise. If isolating, I'd put him on anything from TPTK to two pair to medium overpair, maybe pair and straight draw. I think I'd try...

Re: Proposition bet during a hand... what would you do?

I think the EV is close enough that you should make your decision based on bankroll and metagame considerations. As another poster already said, if you only have one buy in, it's probably best to...

Re: Straight Flush Draw

Moving in is definitely better, if the stack sizes allow it -- in this hand it doesn't look like they do. After you move in, he should call w/ the very strong draw (as many as 18 outs).

Re: Luck-free Poker

The main problem of trying to introduce the duplicate bridge playing pattern to poker is that people bust out in poker. When tables don't have the same number of people, the "same hands" thing breaks...

Re: 5/10 Hand (Boring Title; Interesting Hand)

Which would tend to mean that a value bet of hero's two-pair is in order, right? I don't get why so many people are in favor of the river check, not to mention the flop call.

I think a pre-flop raise would be horrible in that spot. Pot the flop

Re: 25/50 - Why you don\'t slowplay trips..

After reading a somewhat tongue in cheek post by Matt Flynn re: the min-raise, I decided to try it out a bit for fun. Min-raising frequently can have some interesting effects on the rest of the table...

Re: I took down biggest pot of my life but my friends say I should not

Yeah, my head hurts now. He lost the pot, and the reasoning for the turn call is the dumbest thing I've read in weeks.

Re: Your moves?

Reraise the turn or river, make sure the money gets in somehow, and move on to the next hand, win or lose. Stack depth and hand strength don't permit a fold. If you have some mega-read, that's...
