Re: What would you with $20K?

Thanks for the response.

I'm 25 yrs old, with no debt and no real "plan" for this money. I don't need to worry about anything like the kid's college education, certainly. I'm just in the fortunate...

What would you with $20K?

I have about $20K I'm looking to put away somewhere relatively safely--don't want anything too volatile. Right now it's in a platinum savings account accrueing at a hefty 1%--what's a better...

How often is this a bluff?

2-4 NL 6-max, Villian has 400, Hero has 400.

Villain is LAG preflop, raising a lot of hands. Haven't seem him show down anything yet, but doesn't seem too tricky postflop.

Villian raises to $12...

Re: Need help not losing my chips when I have a big stack

Like others have said, this is a pretty bad limp. This is a clear raise or fold situation.

Consider if you had reraised preflop, representing a major hand. Would small blind still push with A5...

Re: Is anyone else going to Aruba?

I'll be there, and I'm totally down to meet up if a get together is arranged. I have, so far, met exactly zero of you (I overslept for the WSOP meeting).

Re: Bad AK Call?

Depends on your image. If you've been aggressive and stealing, I might call this. But if you've been picking your spots pretty carefully, and the other big stack seem solid, I don't see how you can...

Re: Hand from Cal State 1K

I did, basically--I reraised to 800, which I thought would be "scarier" than a push. He went all in, and I called off my few remaining chips.

He had QT, no spades--I was a little surprised at how...

Re: Hand from Cal State 1K

Good point. On the surface, it's a pretty unremarkable situation, one that happens all the time, but his perfect sized bet really made my decision difficult. I considered all options--reraising,...

Hand from Cal State 1K

1500 chips to start, about 195 players. Into the third hour, still a lot of tables left. Hero was moved to this table about one rotation ago, and has yet to play a hand.

Hero has 1600 on the...

Re: Tricky hand

JT, probably. Every other hand that beats you should reraise at some point...of course, he could be a donkey and not know to do that.

Re: AQ Axx, r board

Do you have a read on him? Given the low buy-in, I think he could even have something like KQ-KJ diamonds, and is pushing his missed draw.

But if he's solid, yes, AJ or JJ seem more likely.

Re: chipleader in the party friday special

Thank you, Will. You played excellent as well. I felt like it was Harrington vs Ivey out there, and I must say, you truly have balls of steel. Congrats on the nice payday.

Re: Hand from Legends $5k

Granted, I busted out myself in the 25-50 blind level in this tournament (AA vs AQ, lucky bastard), but I think this is a fold. I call this online any time, but with the stacks so deep, I think you...

Re: a WTF? limp min reraise

Very strange. I assume you raised 4xbb in the CO with AJs because you wanted to take it down right there, right? Did you consider a fold when he minraised you preflop?

In any case, if the limp...

Re: Good spot to push, right?

I fold this 9 times out of 10, unless the limper is weak. ATo is not a great hand, like you said, and though you're running low on chips you're not quite desperate enough to push this now. Wait for a...
