Re: Thoughts on ZJ\'s post

[ QUOTE ]
There are many reasons why you shouldn't do things while drunk.

Trying to make a long, smart post is one of them.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is also a reason.

Re: Value bet my full boat on the river?

AQ has a hand that's known as a straight. It's when you have 5 cards in a row, ie T,J,Q,K,A. It's worse than a flush, but beats trips.

Re: Weak play, or right play

[ QUOTE ]
In later position, i make the play, but with 7 to act behind me, 6 with substantially more chips, I figured a call was likely and I would be AT BEST a 66% favorite.

Re: Tipping Cab Drivers

I take cabs around Boston all the time. I've never encountered anything remotely close to a $80 cab ride. Where did you have him take you? 20 miles out of the city?

Not tipping is ridiculous,...

I tried that one. The only problem is when I do that, raising with T8o UTG seems like a great idea.

Re: Strategy for 58+R satellite to $530

In these (and in the 36Rs that run for regular sunadys), I rebuy immediately and then play it like a freezeout, with an add on at the end. I'm not looking for coinflips for all my money, because too...

Re: All-in call with a weak draw.... help settle a bet.

Yes. At that point, you have no choice but to call. You've put yourself into a horrible situation, and you just have to call and pray that you hit your flush.

Re: All-in call with a weak draw.... help settle a bet.

Preflop sucks. TBH, I have no clue how to handle the flop, but I'm definitely not raising if I'm the hero.

If you keep the TV on for background noise, a projector is probably the worst possible investment.

Re: When to lay down pre-flop???

With half a buyin, I just shove. You don't have the money to play postflop, so I'd just get it all in w/ JJ on up. People will call you w/ weaker holdings when you're a short stack than they will...

Re: Bad play of KK at NL50

All in over the top of his reraise. The pot will be twice the size of your remaining stack if you call, which is pointless. Just get all the money in, and if he has AA, so be it. The range of...

Re: Steal gone bad, what do you do?

Don't steal in this game. There are a few players in this game who will play back at you for the remainder of the hand because they don't want you to feel like you can steal their blind. I know...

Re: The scariest thing that has ever happened to me is...

The scary part wasn't losing it, the scary part is waking up and noticing that your nut has swelled up to about 7x it's regular size. Try to imagine a pain in your crotch as the very first thing you...

Re: Party poker NL $200 6 max-having trouble with 1 player

I think nwGrrl is the best player playing NL200 6 max right now. You should just not play with her.

Re: Faking bluffs?

This is very similar to just shoving AA / KK preflop after someone else raised. Say it's raised to $8, and you reraise to $25. People will rarely call that, but if you just shove after the raise to...

Re: Easy laydown?

Bet bigger on the flop. I wouldn't check the turn. Fire out a 2/3 pot bet on the turn, and you will either get a free showdown on the river, or if he's simply on a king, you could buy the pot right...

Re: Should I give playing $100NL?

You are not alone in this. My first 10k hands at NL100, I was up $2.2k. Since then I've slid, and now over 20k hands (or so), I'm only up about $800.

I have been trying to loosen up my play to...
