Re: Ultimate Fighting Question

It's not pain that makes them tap. When a submission move is fully "locked in", they simply know there is nothing they can do to stop they're arm/leg/ankle/knee from being broken in the next few...

Re: **Discovery Countdown**

[ QUOTE ]
These, as you mention, are a result of the space program, not the shuttle program.

Tell me why we need the shuttle.

Re: **Discovery Countdown**

[ QUOTE ]
I'm sick of the 'inventions' arguement.

Someone find me a list of things there were invented on the shuttle that could not have been invented in a station/capsule senerio.

And don't...

This has already been done - Greenstein talks about it in his book. On his website he has more detailed results along with the code he used to simulate it. Basically, he programmed in the typical...

Re: I just need to confirm

With SB being tight it seems strange that he'd call off half his stack. If I was playing and I thought he was a good player (not necessarily equal to tight), I'd assume he was pulling a stop and go,...

~180 entrants, 45 left. Friend has 15000 chips out of 276000 (.55%) - in the top 5. Buyin is $100, $18000 prize pool. Payouts are ~5k, 3.5k, 2.1k... down to about 20. He says I can take over and...

what exactly do you expect us to respond to this post?

Party $50s

I recently have started playing the $50s on Party. I have always played the normal Stars $50s with success. On Party, however, I'm getting destroyed. It seems like whenever the blinds get big and...

Re: mini-step 5 hand

Could I get a more concrete answer on why a stop and go is a worse play than folding? He makes a rather large raise, which I think could be a large variety of hands. Obviously pushing all in is...

mini-step 5 hand

One of the first few hands of the 50-100 blind level. Drop the hand and move on? Or is a stop-and-go a viable option? Payouts are top 5 - 2000,1000,500,300,200.

Re: Doyle\'s take on calling small edges vs folding

I think in a way you're agreeing with me, and I think what we're both saying is sort of obvious. Of course it is better to be the aggressor, and of course everyone would prefer to be... and of...

grr step 4

11 left. Top 10 get step 4, top 8 get step 5. I am shortstack in small bind with 600 after posting (100/200). There's a stack with 800 in MP, and a stack with 900 UTG. These are the smallest...

Re: Doyle\'s take on calling small edges vs folding

Pushing a small edge is the same as calling off a small edge. The difference is that when you push, your edge usually isn't that small because there's probably at least a 10% chance they fold. If...

Re: +EV Push???

I guess the fact that it's a $10 does matter and affects the calling ranges. I play $50's and I think I would push, but I may be wrong to do so. I don't think it's a clear fold though.

I would like to see more analysis too. We have an intuitive but "hand-waving" argument against it. Obviously you don't want to get called, but the question is will you get called enough by the 4...

Re: Flopped set in SB, 1 suit flop

I would bet close to the pot, and call an all in or a raise as long as it's not from multiple players. He could have As + a pair, protecting top pair, etc. Even if he's got the flush, the pot is...
