What is the defense against the short stack startegy?

I have played very little of the 1/2 capped at $100 NL game.
But it is now the only game available at the local Casinos.
I've notice that a lot of the college students will buy in
for the minimum...

Re: Your line in this hand?

900 is 1/4 of the buttons stack, next hand they are in the BB and will commit another 400. 900+400 =1300 which is a little over a third of the buuton current stack. So, if the button is an average...

Re: Do you get $1 chips for a 3/6 game at a casino?

It is usually either all 1$ chips. or $1 and $2 or $1 and $5.
I only buy in for $100 at games 5-10 and lower. I am prepared
to re-buy if necessary. Never-ever needed to commit more that $200.

Re: Please describe the poker games at the Circus Circus. N/M

2 years a go I rather liked Circus Circus aka C^2.
It was 3-6 with a single 3$ blind, bouns hands etc.
Old style poker and an
easy game for me to beat. They had 6-12 and some times a half kill,...

Re: Trip Report: Lac Vieux Desert

I have played there on 4 ocassions. Its 1.5 hour drive for me.
It dose not always go as well as it did for you. But I
did turn a small profit. It is among the nicer Indian Casinos
in the region....

Re: Where do I find good felt for an antique poker table?

When I'm done I'll send a picture.
I'm thinking of going with blue felt to keep my wife happy
although green was what the original had. Apparently blue
or purple
would "fit in with the decor"....

Re: Where do I find good felt for an antique poker table?

Thanks I think this is the right solution. I.e., use
a real casino cloth. The site you gave only sells it in
3 yard lengths which is twice what I need. What do you think
of this site:...

Re: Carrying around money

I carry a bank card, i.e. ATM card, which for large sums
you of course need to go to the bank and not the ATM.

Re: Moving from Limit to NL

I'm curious to what you actually mean by a short stack
relative to the blinds. Is it 25 times the big blind
100 times the big blind, etc.

Re: Need help breaking too tight pattern

SheridanCat:
Yes you are right. I missed that it was 10 min blinds.
With short blinds you need to devaule your M. Easiest way
is to use in the denominator the sum of the blinds in the
next or...

Re: Need help breaking too tight pattern

[ QUOTE ]
We start with not a lot of $ compared to the size of the
blinds--starting stack $1,500, blinds $25/$50--with blinds increasing every 10
minutes.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is a huge amount...

Re: what is the point of a \"straddle\" and \"check in the dark\"?

I have done this once in my life as 4_2_it decribed,
unfotunately the other idiot had not a clue why I
did it. Caused me to fold the best hand and let the all-in win.
