Re: Uniter not a Divider

A few points:

Elections now generally turn on ethnic and racial divisions. The white population of California, New York, and Illinois actually had a small majority for Bush in exit polls. ...

Re: 5% of Black Males in America are currently in Prison

[ QUOTE ]
FYI, most people with an IQ above room temperature are aware that "race" is an artificial distinction without scientific basis. All human DNA is traceable back to Africa, including that of...

Re: Bob rates the poker-book covers

I have to agree with Bob here. Out of 20 poker books I've owned the best cover far and away was King Yao's book. The only other cover I liked was Ciaffone's Improve Your Poker.

Re: Are Astrology Devotees SubHuman?

I have never known or met anyone who was a serious devotee of astrology. Quite a few women ask about people's signs and have some general theories about what type of a person someone is based on...

Re: Who loses in the \"Big game\"?

Go to Barry Greenstein's webpage (http://www.barrygreenstein.com) to get a good idea. He ranks himself, Phil Ivey, Chau Giang, Doyle Brunson, and Chip Reese as an 8 against strong players.

Re: Announcing \"Answered\" Prayers Both Stupid and Disgusting

Dov,

I think Sklansky was too harsh with his judgment of this woman. Whether or not rational thought is preferable to irrational thought is not something I'm discussing in my posts.

He seems...

Re: Announcing \"Answered\" Prayers Both Stupid and Disgusting

First of all you're taking this quote from my reply to zeno not my reply to your post.

My problem with your post was that you are insulting a woman who is overjoyed that her son who was feared...

Re: Announcing \"Answered\" Prayers Both Stupid and Disgusting

You seem to be misrepresenting my post. Please read it again. There is no endorsement of the power of prayer or of the power of psychics or astrologers.

I think Sklansky is overly...

Re: Barry G\'s books....

Fair enough, I've just been wanting to make the point for some time that those who complain about repeated posts are those who really don't have any more to learn on this board including myself.

Orion is a British publisher. My guess is that Orion has the overseas or European rights to publish the book while Atria has the American publishing rights. For whatever reason the publishers chose...

Re: As if I\'m paying $27 for Shipping!

To me it's a no brainer to ship it USPS. Otherwise you're paying an extra $18 for insurance when it's delivered with Fedex. You don't need to pay $18 for insurance on a $30 book. I'm sure if the...

Re: I owe Party Poker... what can they do to me?

It is at least unethical if not criminal not to pay Party back. You can't justify it after the fact as being due to poor customer service. Pay them back immediately.

Re: Skansky\'s reference to other fish that feed the Big Game

In Doyle's own words he said he was having a bad year. He did not use the phrase "a bad month" and he did not say he recently took a big loss in a big game vs Andy Beal but was otherwise doing well...

Re: Skansky\'s reference to other fish that feed the Big Game

I've read that Doyle is the big loser in the big game. I also recall seeing Doyle on television recently on a story about the big game stating (I'm paraphrasing) that he was the most fatigued he'd...
