Re: Countering a LAG who\'s a good reader
One thing you could try is to adopt his style in an online game at stakes you don't mind losing at. See how people react to you, and make a note of the moves they make that give you difficult...

Seems to me this equity would be negative if anything, since these people are only likely to call your final bet if they have you beat.

Re: Overcoming Money Management tilt
If failing to bank winning sessions is capable of cleaning out your bankroll, I'd suggest you have a much more serious money management problem than you realise.
If you're playing no limit or...

Seems to be a very long way of saying :
"Adaptation to situations is as important as general guidelines".
True in poker, true in life.

Re: Great Knockout-- Did I have Any Choice?
[ QUOTE ]
I can still get out of that hand after the flop. I couldn't if I opened with a push.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except, as you found out, you probably can't. Certainly you didn't in this case.

Help with the final table crapshoot
Having just read HoH, and thanks to the great discussions on these forums, I feel my MTT play has come on loads over the last month. In 28 tourneys this month ($10-50 buy-in, mainly 100-300...

Re: Somehow off-topic?
Perhaps I'm being a little unfair, given that I've never actually used the Culbertson convention in anger. The fact that 90%+ of top players use RKCB and <1% use Culbertson 4N-5N seems compelling...

Re: tournament ethics/strategy question
Suppose SB has AQ and UTG JTs. Why should the two sevens be forced to dodge Jacks and tens as well as aces and queens, when he can halve the danger to his hand by moving in. If JTs folds, he now...

It means beginners nearly always lose a ton at no limit.
The gulf between good and bad players is huge, and the exploitation time short. Learning the basics at limit is much cheaper. Mistakes are...

Re: A conjecture for discussion
I think this is very situational.
In a tough game, I think it's usually optimal to mix-up your play.
In a weak game, I think it's usually sub-optimal to mix-up your play.
Within either game,...

I decided to take an immediate rebuy, got a good hand quickly and doubled up. It's...
