Re: I\'ll put you all-in

[ QUOTE ]

Please show me where in the TDA rules it says that.

[/ QUOTE ]

It doesn't say in the rules not to take a dump on the table during the color-up, but you know better.

How else,...

[ QUOTE ]

I’m under no obligation to tell you how much I have in front of me.

[/ QUOTE ]

You could not be more incorrect. You could try... But you would not succeed.

Re: Was this the right play?

Bad beat stories always feature the "hero" being convinced he was the superior player and did the right thing, and was beaten by bad luck.

Re: Was this the right play?

Typical hyper-aggressive players like this will frequently play any suited paint. I think you should have given the villain credit for the flush. If you do that, you have to know that you're a 3:1...

Re: Home game tournament director program

Don't give up yet. See if any of the clock programs are open source, and if they are, see if you can contribute to them and provide maybe some features that are missing.

Re: NL Home Tourney Hand

My play is, as soon as the bigger stack makes a bet on the flop, push. This is a great opportunity to double into the chip lead, but with a weak set you're happy to get the villain's bet and the...

Re: portland, OR home game

btw there's a yahoogroup called pdx-poker that might be appropriate for announcing this kind of game. It's mostly for the more friendly home games, tending towards .25/.50 and such

Re: is there a link for structuring tournet with no rebuys..

[ QUOTE ]

Seriously, didn't someone talk about a FAQ for this group? or at least a sticky with common links posted (chips, tourneys, table building directions, etc).

Yeah, that...

Re: Anyone use the Home Poker Tourney.com Structure. need review.

[ QUOTE ]

Just curious. why would you need a $10 chip? Couldn't you just use $5, $25, $100 to start and then add more colors later?

[/ QUOTE ]

Okay, make it a $5 chip. Same effect. It's a...

Re: Anyone use the Home Poker Tourney.com Structure. need review.

My only problem with that structure is that it requires a whole extra color of chips (10s) that are only used for the first 3 levels.

My blind progression starts at 0-25 (only one blind), then...

Re: Flying with Chip Case

I pondered a similar question before heading on a family vacation to Hawaii, anticipating some friendly poker action.

I eventually went to Walmart and bought some 3-gram plastic interlocking...

Re: Ruling help

[ QUOTE ]

If you toss the cards towards the center face down, you lose. The chips are a part of the muck. 2 inches in front of you is part of the muck in my home game. Any pushing away of the...

Time to build a 2+2 Home Poker FAQ!

I think it's high time we built a FAQ and had it stickied in here. We don't have to answer all the frequently asked questions in it, but there are a lot of resources (e.g. homepokertourney.com,...

Hm. Well then maybe it's time we actually built a FAQ. I'll post in a separate thread.

Don't sweat it. You probably could have used the search function. But regardless, we need a FAQ with answers to questions like yours.

Re: Alternate Social Tourney Format Ideas?

One thing that I heard about that sounded intruiguing was a "Couple's Tourney." It is intended to be done with male/female pairings but you could de-emphasize the "couple" aspect and just make it...

Re: Was this a good move?

How often can you psychically predict that you will hit one of your "live" cards? (btw live cards are only good for 3:1 against, post-flop)

If you can accurately predict that you will hit your...

There are also some forms of denim that work well. But really, all you had to do was use the Search feature. Questions like this get repeatedly asked.

Re: Whats the ruleing on this?

It actually does have one effect that legitimately pisses off blackjack players.

If you split tens, you're obviously looking for high cards, nines or tens or aces, to go with each. In their eyes,...
