Re: Bellagio WPT Part 2 by Blair Rodman

[Q] Could you elaborate on how showing the 63 increases your FE for future pf steals?

Thanks for the great reports, see you in Melbourne. [Q]

Bellagio WPT Part 2 by Blair Rodman

After laying down the set of threes, I went on a little rush. I picked up a few pots, then this hand came up. I called a small raise in late position with Th7h. Four players took the flop, which came...

Re: WPT Bellagio 12/05

1) Yes, connectors and small pairs
2) I might cold call to disguise my hand if I'm pretty sure it's going to be heads up. Usually I'll re-raise to help define my opponents hand and limit the field,...

Re: WPT Bellagio 12/05

Honestly, early on in big starting stack events, I'll probably raise with QQ,KK,AA, and limp with other hands, including AK, hoping to flop a big hand and trap. I'll also raise occasionally with...

Re: WPT Bellagio 12/05

Actually I didn't say that. I don't like raising with AQ in that spot when we all have huge stacks. If he calls, I've created a big pot out of position against a player who could have limped with...

WPT Bellagio 12/05

I never cease to be amazed. Most players were guessing around 400-450 for the final, they get 555. Where does all the money come from? Internet sites mostly. These big tournaments are the tip of that...

Re: ULTIMATE POKER CHALLENGE DAY 1 REPORT by BLAIR RODMAN

Experience in poker is a critical element in advanced play. For players with thousands of hours at the tables, sometimes the answer just comes to you, and you're not sure from where. In fact, I often...

ULTIMATE POKER CHALLENGE DAY 2 PART 3 REPORT by BLAIR RODMAN

When you are near the bubble and have a big stack, it’s party time. You can put the short stacks to the test, and pick up lots of blinds and antes. While it was good for the most part to have Amir to...

ULTIMATE POKER CHALLENGE DAY 2 PART 1 REPORT by BLAIR RODMAN

I came into today feeling great and ready to play. The first thing I did was ask Tom Franklin about the hand yesterday in which I’d laid down the set. I said “Tommy, one of us made a great play in...

The 10k final of the UPC drew 55 players, just as it had in July. It lacked a little luster in the absence of many...

Re: Marked Cards

What Andy's referring to is nail marks on the cards. Some players look at their cards by bending them from the side, using excessive finger nail pressure. While I doubt it's being done at the WSOP...
