Re: A10 in BB vs button Raise

[ QUOTE ]
I agree and am suprised noone else likes a river check.

[/ QUOTE ]

For the record, I think a check/call is a decent line, if not superior to pure Clarkmeister. I simply have not been...

9 /images/graemlins/heart.gif? A six? Rivered two pair? A bluff?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think a bluff is the most likely of any of those, followed by the 9/images/graemlins/heart.gif, perhaps...

There's no way in hell I'm folding to a raise.

What is a TAG raising this river with?

Re: I am so proud of myself

Let's raise that flop next time, okay? Folding the river is horrible.

Re: A10 in BB vs button Raise

[ QUOTE ]
Folding this to a button raise would be bad. You're very likely to be ahead _especially_ against a tag who will often be trying to steal the blinds.

The only question preflop here is...

Re: A10 in BB vs button Raise

Preflop: If villain is tight-aggressive, I think you can fold this. You'll be heads-up and he's most likely raising with a decent hand (although I suppose he could be stealing with something a bit...

Re: BB w/ 88

Preflop: I'm not against raising, depending on the texture of the table, but checking is fine.

Flop: Good raise. Your overpair is, most likely, the best hand. Raise to knock out those pesky...

Re: AKo UTG

I think you're getting action by a bluff or worse two pair often enough to call here. It seems like a straight would've raised the turn. Nice hand.

Re: open completing in the SB

[ QUOTE ]
As a side note, if a SB open limps when I have the BB, I will raise any two.

[/ QUOTE ]

I like this line as well, but particularly in no-limit hold 'em tournaments. In fact, I've...

Couple of Basic WA/WB Hands

Way Ahead/Way Behind is a concept I've learned only recently. In Hand 1, I believe I misapplied it (i.e. after it got heads up, I think I should've switched to a WA/WB line) and in Hand 2, I folded...

Creating Private Play Money Tables

Is there any site which will allow me to create a private play money table so that my non-gambling friends and I could have a game? Thanks.

(This may or may not be relevant to this section of the...

Re: Moneymaker dominating a $10 PS tourney with 37 remaining

I suppose he's supposed to fold AQs this late in a tournament.

Re: question about continuation bets

Well, (OBVIOUS ANSWER ALERT) it depends.

In general, I think of continuation bets as semi-bluffs: you may have the best hand, but a bet may also pick up the pot right then, and if you're called,...

Re: the wrong way to use Clarkmeister\'s theorem?

[ QUOTE ]
Yeah, this isn't Clarkmeister, but I like it fine. I see no reason whatsoever to give a loose villain like that credit for the flush, and if you check to him on the turn he will...

Re: one more hand to be critiqued

[ QUOTE ]
i don't know that you aren't getting implied odds to draw to 2-outs (it's about 13 or 14:1 right now)

Re: the wrong way to use Clarkmeister\'s theorem?

Preflop: I guess you can see a free flop. If they force you to.

Flop: I hate this call. This pot is superdupersmall, you have eight outs to a straight, but really only six to a straight you feel...

Re: the wrong way to use Clarkmeister\'s theorem?

To address the subject of the post, the Clarkmeister theorem dictates betting when the fourth flush card comes on the river, not on the turn. I'll reply to the hand itself shortly.

Standard? Why call the scary turn and not call the non-scary river?

Re: Standard play, or am I missing something?

Preflop/Flop: Perfect.

Turn/River: Yes, the donkbet is startling, but without a fantastic read, my first inclination is to raise the turn and take a free showdown unimproved. On the river, the pot...

Re: one more hand to be critiqued

This is a tough hand. Honestly, I think your fold is fine. There are two people besides you who liked their hand enough preflop to cap and still like their hand a lot on a basically blank flop. Even...

Re: Swing and a Miss... now what?

In a large pot, I think you need to bet the flop. Turn fold is perfect, the way you played it.

EDIT: Let me elaborate. First of all, you'd like to see a bunch of hands fold (in fact, just about...

Re: TT - Textbook SSHE, Right?

The pot is about 13 BB large and I have to call 1 BB. If I win the hand at least once out of every 14 times (not 13, that's a mistake by the original poster) I encounter this situation, it's not a...
