And there's a significant chance you'll be quartered--or counterfeited

There are only 6 cards in the deck that counterfeit me (less if he is also playing A2) so I wouldn't...

Re: PLO8, Flop Play

I like the pre-flop call and flop call as long as you are willing to get away from this hand if it goes south.

On the turn I raise. I want to stack this guy and If he is as bad as you said he may...

Re: LO8 1/2 - Was I wrong in pumping this Pot?

Pre-flop:
I would just call pre-flop to try and get the players behind me in the pot too. Raising is also reasonable to get all the players who limped to pay an extra bet with hands that yours will...

Re: wild live plo8 hand

At the risk of sounding like Sluggo fold the flop, fold the turn.

On the flop:
You are drawing to the bottom end of the str8 which is almost never a good idea in O8. Here is why, there are only 4...

Re: Wow was FCP wrong

[ QUOTE ]
I don't want to be too picky, but for Bayesian statisticians, there is no "true" underlying distribution, just our conditional expectations. A Bayseian starts with a set of beliefs, or...

Re: Wow was FCP wrong

[ QUOTE ]

It's possible to calculate the EV of this hand, at least from a Bayesian perspective.

[/ QUOTE ]
From a Bayesian perspective is it possible to get close to the true EV but it still...

Re: Wow was FCP wrong

I guess that I wasn't clear in the OP. It is impossible to know the EV of this hand because it is dependant on the probability that villain holds certain hands. The point of the SS is to plug in...

Re: Help me increase my PLO/8 VP$IP

[ QUOTE ]
Goop, have you upped your VP$IP at all from the ~ 20%

[/ QUOTE ]
In my last 5K hands of PLO8 my VP$IP was 23, so yes and no.

However I think for that 4 tabling at low levels 23 is...

Re: Help me increase my PLO/8 VP$IP

Throw in
- A4, A5 suited
- 4 > 10 unsuited
I will play them from LP in an unraised pot and from MP if there are a couple of limpers in front of me.

Wow was FCP wrong

I really started to think about that hand that 2+2 and FCP were disagreeing (A35J on a 2h 4h Jc flop). After all that talk about putting the villain on a range of hands I decided to do exactly that....

How important is position in PLO8?

Looking at my position vs. win rate there isn't a high correlation. However I don't have enough hand in my database for this to be really proven.

Can someone with a large database take a screen...

You 1/4 him? I am going to assume that this means you got 3/4 of the pot.

I would raise preflop to build a pot and steal the...

I don't think that you can help but be a winner playing that tight. However I really don't think that he is a big winner. In my poker database people that play really tight win in the 3-5 BB/100...

To continue the flame war ...

What do you think smasharoo's (from fullcontactpoker) BB/100 is?

I just can't see playing that tight being very profitable.

Re: PLO8, Flop play

You should go read some the full contact poker threads. Smash has all the personality of Ribbo / Wintermute but with even less explanation.

Re: Who bets this river?

I think this is read dependant. How loose / aggressive is this player? What is his W$SD? With no read I would lean towards betting.

However I would have folded the flop.

Re: Some Limit O8 hands

Hand 1:
- Should have raised pre-flop.
- I like the flop raise.

Hand 2:
- I prefer a limp pre-flop, but raise isn't horrible (opponent dependant)
- I play the rest of the hand the same way.
