Re: A good read and a bad beat... Was there another way?

Sorry... I didn't notice the difference in the categories. I'd move the post if I could.

Thanks for your comment anyway.

A good read and a bad beat... Was there another way?

As all good players should do, I often find myself second guessing what appears to be a great read on my opponent. It makes me wonder whether I'm just too aggressive when I know I have the best...

Re: Is my HU play flawed at SNGs?

After several hands where he re-raises about the same amount and I call him down to the river... I start to see that he plays Ax real strong consistently. Also, a consistent raiser usually means...

Re: Is my HU play flawed at SNGs?

If I have my opponent 2 to 1 in stack size, I definitely will re-raise him all-in.
But if we are both about the same stack size, and a confrontation occurs like this, should I consider raising his...

Is my HU play flawed at SNGs?

When I get to the final 2 at an SNG, I am usually very aggressive with PP unless I am the large stack and want to trap.

There are situations that happen a lot in HU play, and I can sense what...

Too Aggressive with 99 Heads-Up?

I play a lot of one table tournaments and do a good job at becoming one of the final two spots.
Now, I am usually very aggressive with PP and want to know whether my strategy is flawed or not.

Re: Why is there no NL Omaha?

My thinking is along the same lines as Iceman.
However, it does appear that PokerStars does offer it.
NL Omaha does seem to really take a lot out of the strategy of the game though.

Why is there no NL Omaha?

My friends and I recently started playing Omaha to mix it up.
However, from looking at one or two internet sites, it doesn't appear that anyone plays Omaha in a NL format.
Can someone explain why...

True Online Tells?

I have read about a few online tells, but wanted to get the consensus of 2+2ers. I think picking off online tells is probably dangerous, as it doesn't have the same value as in a B&M game.
I'm...

Are we playing bad NL holdem?

Me and 6 other guys have been playing a home NL poker for the last few months and an obvious pattern has arisen that makes me wonder if the table is betting poorly or if our ante structure (.25/.50)...

Re: When is all-in a bad move?

Thanks Evan. That's what I was trying to determine.
I didn't know whether stack size or other factors are involved that I should be concerned with.
Obviously, if I'm wrong about them drawing to a...

Re: When is all-in a bad move?

Let me correct myself. NOT drawing dead. (sorry bout that)
I'm referring to Live Pair versus Flush Draw/OESD.
Basically, if the pot size is right, is there ever a bad reason to go all-in if you...

When is all-in a bad move?

Hello,

I know there are many scenarios when all-in is a bad move. However, I recently had two semi-bad beat issues happen to me where I lost an all-in bet at the river.
So, I am trying to...

Unorthodox pre-flop betting strategy. Will it work or hurt me?

Hi,

I wanted to get some opinions on a theory I have that is nothing like what is considered normal pre-flop betting strategy.
I'm quickly becoming an intermediate player online, and recently got...

Don\'t understand Free Roll Concept

I know I'm missing something here, but don't know what.
Sites like UB offer free rolls for entering a tourney.
This means it costs nothing to participate?
If it costs nothing, then what prize is...

Requesting to see losing hand at Showdown.... Bad Form?

I have a newbie question for all.
Holdem rules state that the winner of a showdown (in fact any active player) can ask to see the losing player's hand when he folds subsequent to calling your hand....

Re: Concealing Hole Cards at Showdown

The problem was that I was probably the second most knowledgable player at the table (that's not saying much either). The guy who kept doing this to me had played holdem much longer (but mostly from...

Concealing Hole Cards at Showdown

I'm a newbie at Holdem (about 6 mo.) and have played at a little bit at a local B&M and quite a bit online.
Recently, I struck up a home game with the neighbors.
Unfortunately, one of my neighbors...
