Understand that the bet you are talking about (when you missed the flop completely) is a bluff.

Uh, the Q/images/graemlins/diamond.gif9 that Numeri mentioned early in the thread. And why don't you think a straight is good at the turn? The other guys in this hand could easily be betting sets...

Re: AA hand - Intended for newbies

Posting blind.

Ok, well first I'm only beat by a 4. I'm not giving bb credit for a 4 yet. Yet, a c/r from an unknown I've got to give him credit for a pocket pair or good overcards. I have two...

Re: Day 2 - Limping v. Raising w/ Axs

To add something nobody has commented on. In full ring, you don't need to pump up the pot if you flop a strong draw. If there are a few limpers pre-flop, the pot will be plenty big enough to play...

Ed made an off-hand comment about this in SSH. It was in one of the hand examples where you post in MP with Q8s. It is either a footnote, or an aside within the answer where he says some people...

Re: Why would variance be higher at 6max?

But variance doesn't have much to do with making good or bad decisions. Variance is the result of random processes in the game itself. If you only play hands that are 60-80% sure to win, your...

Re: Downswing

I would say raising that second hand pre-flop is too aggressive. I may raise the first one on the flop, but I'd fold the second one.

Re: Why would variance be higher at 6max?

I think you missed all the other 'and' clauses in his post. I think that playing marginal hands on later streets is where the variance will increase from your full-ring games. Also, playing many...

Well, when you have KK and someone flops a small set, you are going to lose a lot of money. Recall in the books where they say you want to be up against AA/KK when your small pp hits a set on the...

Re: Can you ever protect from flush Draws?

You cannot really protect yourself in that you make it improper for your opponent to call with his FD. You can have enough equity in the pot that you make money on every bet though. So, while you...

Re: I am Bankuri, and I am weak-tight....Hi Bankuri

First, I have a gutshot too. I definitely have odds to call for a 6-out draw. Second, if a Q falls I have a redraw to an OESD. In order for anyone to beat my straight they'd have to have a J. I...

Re: I am Bankuri, and I am weak-tight....Hi Bankuri

Ok, my repentance post. Similar situation, BB isn't terribly loose, but he's played a few pots very aggressively to the showdown and they've all been with marginal holdings.

Party Poker 0.50/1...

Re: question for fellow SSHE readers

Now, while they aren't terribly loose, they are full of players playing really bad hands. Many players play any ace, any pair, and any suited cards if one is ten or higher from any position. And I...

Re: question for fellow SSHE readers

Sorry, but I almost never see a .50/1 Party table that sees 6 people to the flop occasionally, no less on average.

Re: What to do...(first post)

I would muck this. It's a small pot against two opponents. Sure if you hit your queen you are likely in decent shape but you aren't going to hit your queen and win often enough to be profitable.

Re: I am Bankuri, and I am weak-tight....Hi Bankuri

But, this does lead me to a question. What does a limp re-raise represent? Is it ever proper for a skilled player to do this, or is it a somewhat strong hand played by a bad player?
