Re: c-bet bluff defense?

I've noticed recently that a lot of people will check/min-raise when they think someone is c-betting. This seems to have suddenly become popular maybe 6 months ago. It kept happening to me and I...

Re: Bad Players = Hard to Beat????

The problem with playing against bad players is that you are unable to use one of your most valuable tools, hand reading. Consequently, you are forced to gamble more because you have no idea where...

Re: Wild Turkey Barrel Stock

This is one of my favorite bourbons. It's smooth enough to drink straight despite the ludicrously high alcohol content.

Re: How often are you NOT called when raising PF?

4bb +1/limper is just a guideline. At some tables/sites this is too much or too little. Try raising 3bb to open or 4bb with 1-3 limpers.

Re: Experiencing first big downswing...advice please.

If you still have the bankroll left to do it, try to play the same as you normally would. Your downswing only exists in the past; your next session has the the same probability of being profitable...

Re: Screwing around on micro limits--was this stupid?

On bodog, it wouldn't be unusual for pusher to have middle pair or air or the caller to have top pair. I can't explain how bad these people are. A typical hand is limp, flop TPTK, bet pot and get...

Re: becoming a championship boxer.....

Most championship boxers at the lower weight limits are just short and built like any other boxer. Despite his superior size and reach, your friend would get clobbered by some 5' guy. Also he would...

Screwing around on micro limits--was this stupid?

I've been on a bit of a downswing so I was playing some Bodog $10NL to shore up my confidence. Bodog has no PT compatability so I apologize for the imperfect formating.

No reads except that...

Re: Small Stakes - People who literally throw money away

This is probably more true of live than online poker. A lot of live players are there to socialize/have some fun/have some drinks and don't care to much about losing. This also probably applies...

Re: Just Starting Out - Any Advice?

A lot of people on these forums can be d*cks to newbies so just don't pay attention to them. Other than that, good luck and I hope to see you around.

Re: Reasons for not moving up...

I think a lot of it is mental laziness by people who just aren't that ambitious. They feel that if they can win consistently at a certain level by half paying attention, there's no need to deal with...

Re: Party blackjack is attracting some sick gamblers

Nobody's mentioned that the their edge playing bj is hell of a lot better (better=not as bad) than if they were playing 100/200.

Re: Help, I\'m getting raped online (long)

I've read through the thread and I really don't understand all your "if my parents let me" crap. I assume you have super-controlling parents who monitor your life and finances. If you're in...

Re: Best way to tip waitresses to get better service?

Tip a red on the first drink and say "this is for the next couple drinks." I'm assuming this is a place where most people tip $1 or nothing at all. If you're at the Bellagio or someplace where $5...

Theoretical: you know opponents hole cards on flop

Suppose one day you log onto your favorite site and discover that you can see all of your opponents' hole cards when the flop is dealt. How would you maximize EV?

It seems like in the short term...

Re: Am I going to poker Hell? (lc)

Re: Comps in Vegas When Playing Poker Etc

I think there's a lot about this in the b&m section. All the casinos will give you any kind of drink you want including booze and redbull. Poker doesn't generate the amount of cash other games do...

Am I going to poker Hell? (lc)

I've been a winning NL player at limits up to 2/4, but lately I've found a smaller site where the players are far worse than anything I have seen. My usual routine is to 3-table $50NL and I average...

Re: Moving from $25 to $50, is it worth it?

You mentioned that you play on PokerRoom. I've played a decent amount on there and I've found their $50 NL to be among the hardest on the net. I actually found the $100NL to be easier, but I only...

Getting paid off in this common situation

This situation has happened to me quite a few times and it's almost always frustrating and difficult for me. I'll be the button or LP in a multi-handed pot. I'll flop a monster hand like a set on a...
