I feel like a lot of what you are saying mirrors what I am feeling.

Re: I call down with AKs

I like it. I can't see folding this anywhere.

Re: Why can\'t I fold...i know exactly what he has...!

This is not a great situation for the PF call. You have a likely passive raise UTG with a pretty aggressive player yet to act. I think that the PF call is marginal, but not likely a big leak either...

Re: boring fold v tag.

If the SB has your range of AA, KK, QQ, TT, AK, and AQ then you have about 27% or about 3:8 equity against him HU on the turn. The MP muddies things up, but if we give him any braodway and any pair,...

Re: Do I need to follow this through?

Check behind on the river. If he missed the mostly likely draw, JT or maybe QJ, then you are still ahead, but he won't call the river bet with these. If he has an ace high then the better ones will...

Re: Ugh @ 5/10

I would put in more bets on the turn. You could not have asked for a safer card. The limp-cap could be AA, but at 5/10 I am normally shown a large range of crap as well. I would either donk the...

Re: missed value or allright?

I would raise the river and call the 3-bet. His check-raise on the flop sounds a lot like 2-pair. I don't see how pocket queens would not raise preflop. Pocket nines are the only other hand that...

Re: Anyone go for the C/R when you\'re the PFR?

The check-raise is FPS where it doesn't normally need to be applied. As others have said, you should get action here anyways. However, I think the check-raise isn't too bad in this specific...

Re: i\'m ultra paranoid..

Here are some poker stove numbers, with the SB having any hand with a queen, A8, A7, 87, 77, 88, and any OESD. Calling down to the river we need to put in 2.5 BB to win 7 BB and win 26% of the time...

Re: Table Selection

I like the reference! I have learned quite a bit from searching through Peter's old posts. His analysis of why it is best to always bet an ace high flop when you put in the raise PF has probably...

Re: anyway to extract more?

I think that making money with these hands is difficult. You are not normally going to get much action when you have crippled the board, so your slowplay line is pretty good IMO. You can try and...

Re: I always pay off

I think that many things work against the calldown here. You were UTG when you raised, an ace came out, the turn card did not complete any likely draw, and a generally passive opponent check-raised...

Re: Agression level check for this hand - how did I do?

Thanks for the reply. You bring up some good points about discounting a lot of hands that he would have chosen to raise PF with. I had a feeling that he was overplaying a draw or a pair+draw. The...

Re: Agression level check for this hand - how did I do?

Thanks for the reply. This is one of the things I considered at the time. If we cap the turn then do we call if he leads into us river, and bet if he checks with the intention of calling a check...

Re: Baby ace from the SB

I would complete here most every time. I would also consider raising PF if I knew the button was weak tight. I can't see how folding from the sb makes sense when the button's open-limp basically...

SB showed Q8 with no spade and MHIG. This hand confirmed his LAGGY status for me. I felt at the time that there was a good chance I was ahead still on the river, but that I didn't think I would get...

Re: Blind war. I\'m heading for SD but cards intterupt

I also like calling the flop 3-bet and raising the turn. The Q is not a very big scare card and I think that there are many hands that the SB will 3-bet on the flop that we are still ahead of on the...

Re: Agression level check for this hand - how did I do?

Thanks, with my weak read that he was laggy I couldn't see any way to fold this one. I considered raising the river, but considering the previous action, I didn't want to get 3-bet three streets in...

Re: Agression level check for this hand - how did I do?

Thanks for the reply. Do you think that I am behind on the turn too often here? I thought that the chance I was drawing dead was quite a bit less than the chance that he had a pair, 2 pair, or a...

Re: Agression level check for this hand - how did I do?

Interesting. Do you call a river 3-bet, given this river card?

Re: boring?

Calling the turn raise without a read is a tough one for me. I don't like that the sb cold called two on the flop and then check raised a nothing card on the turn. It doesn't seem like any kind of...

Re: AKo vs. flop c/r

I also like the turn raise. I can't give him much credit for the flush HU and if he has a lone diamond then you will likely get more value in raising the turn rather than waiting for the river.

Agression level check for this hand - how did I do?

SB seemed pretty laggy and appeared aggressive on some earlier flops. I had only played about 10 or 15 hands with him, though. UTG seemed tight and passive.
