Re: AQ - I hate everything about this

Limp with this UTG I would say. Check call the flop; better than bet and get raised. Check raise the turn. Check the river if called.

This way about the same amount of money goes in the pot, but...

Re: 10 10 facing a large raise, $55 hand

Yep, fold. You can push if you read AK and can keep chips if you win the race.

Re: Should I have just folded? Bubble Play

If you've been stealing his blinds then you're likely to get played back at if you raise a regular amount so the raise all in is fine. But you could also limp and if you get to see the flop cheaply...

Re: pp 100+9: two bubble situations in the blinds with trips

In neither hand did you excercise pot control really.

In hand 1 you min bet on the flop, called a tiny raise and then check/called the rest of the way.

In hand 2 you made a tiny raise on...

Re: Better Poker In Less Than 30 Seconds (Part 1)

I call. (decided in the right time)

More ways to make up AK so you're roughly a 75% favourite more of the time and a have a 20% chance of winning the rest of the time. Although I think the call...

Re: 2-4 party: Flopping flush, board paired river

Biggest mistake is the raise to $100 on the turn, as others have pointed out played just like limit. I think that you should raise it to $200. It's a big raise, probably slightly more than the pot,...

Re: How stupid this play is?

I think the best part of the hand is the open min raise, text book stuff /images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: This hand greatly confuses me.

fold preflop

call only if you promise to play the flop like you have no ace in your hand

the reraise is brutal against a tight player raising from EP - if he can raise in EP, he can call a...

Re: Raising like a maniac.

I guess most of the play was ok. The levels are so quick you have to gamble every time you get a decent hand. If there was more time for maneouvre then I probably wouldn't have raised the 22, maybe...

Re: UB 20+2 MTT, 2 hands near the bubble

hand 1

i'm not a huge fan of the PFR. the push is ok since you were checked to and it's near the bubble.

hand 2

fold preflop, best to open raise with AQ around now, not reraise

villain...

Re: could (should) i have got away from this?

If I'm gonna defend my blind with K5, I prefer to reraise preflop.

On the flop you've stop n go'd, and met heavy resistance. I'd probably call more than half the time (checking the second hand on...

This was precisely the flop I was looking for. Is the concern for MP3 having an overpair worth folding? My read was it was an AK trying to take down pot

Re: Step 5 AKo - Easy fold?

There is pretty much the right amount of dead money in the pot to be on the wrong end of a coinflip here, which means a call is correct against QQ and below. You have no chance of a 3-way all in...

Re: 75o early in a Step 4

Bet that flop don't check it, IMO. You're on a semi bluff, with a flush draw on the board, and likely overcards against you that you don't want drawing for free, and you do actually have top pair so...

Re: pp step 5 99 in small blind

Here I likely check raise, the raise being 1.5 x his bet. No harm if it gets checked through really... If he calls or pushes then I shut down or fold, respectively - he's got the hand I'm trying to...

Re: No way out of this??

You say that villain 2 is a tricky player who has restolen a couple of times and then you put him on AA? That doesn't really make sense.

This is a perfect flop for your QQ. Neither player reraised...

Re: KQ late in tourneys..

When you were min raising, what were you thinking? "I've got a hand I don't know what to do with, I have no information on anyone and a small stack... so I'll min raise"?

It is probably the worst...

Re: FINAL TABLE, another JJ hand.

I haven't read all of the other replies yet.

My read on UTG here is AK-J or a bigger pair, possibly TT. More likely overcards.

Here I think there are a number of reasons to flat call.

You...

Re: KK (couldn\'t think of a snazzy title)

With a big pair on this board I overbet the pot. Any action I get is from a strong hand usually, and since he's UTG and had ample odds to call for a set preflop, that's what I will suspect. If I have...

Re: How do you play this JJ hand

I raise twice the pot on the flop to about $200 and if I was any shallower I push. Not allowing anyone to draw here and min bet/raise play is just annoying. No one will believe you have KT and a...

Re: 2/4 - T8s in SB...

I was thinking that too (couldn't remember if it was called a freeze bet or what) but i think that it should be smaller than half the pot, more like 1/5 - 1/4 the pot.
