LRAO,

[ QUOTE ]
What do you call each time your dealt a pair of hole cards? I think "hand" refers to a pair you actually play. The reason why I'm asking is b/c I am creating a spreadsheet and...

Re: call to MAYBE chop?

PokerBob,

You shouldn't fold (given the size of the pot) and raising seems wrong (given the CO's 3-bet preflop and his post-flop play) so calling here is the correct play.

Re: Flop raising with position

onegymrat,

Why did you raise the flop in your first hand? If the pot was bigger I could see making a move here, but given the description of your two opponents it seems to be a negative EV play....

Re: 20/40 84s

piggity,

I can see getting called by worst hands (notably by the loose-passive BB) so I like betting the river here.

BTW I understand your motivation for open-raising from MP, but couldn't you...

1. I was at SB with 99 and called an old strange player in middle position raise, BB called.

I like raising here in an attempt to get the hand heads-up.

Re: 15/30: Tough spot w/ TT in multiway pot

Preflop I like just calling with your pocket Tens. Even if a raise gets the two EP limpers to fold, you are still facing 4 opponents (and it appears that the game is so loose that you are going to...

Main/Side pot question

In a $20-40 game at the Mirage a player limps, another player goes all-in with his single remaining red chip, the SB folds, and the BB raps. What is in the main pot and the side pot?

Assume the...

Re: Another from the same 20/40 game

na4bart,

I don't think that your play here is going to work (although I don't fault you for trying -- the pot is pretty big). The problem is that the average player who 3-bets preflop has a...

Low limit O-8 Hand

This is literally my second hand in a 9-handed $1-2 online game. While I have played with two of the players before (one is the button who folded on the flop and the other was UTG who just called...

Re: Too fancy? (O8)

Q,

I'm quite new to the game but I'll take a stab at this hand.

Flop: You put the SB on a low draw. If accurate then I think raising here is a mistake. You can't win low and you only have a...

Re: Bellagio 80-160 Hand #2, AQo on the button

The pot is pretty big and the BB could be betting a draw. Why not raise the turn, planning on folding if the BB 3-bets?

On the river, just check behind without improvement.

sin808,

I think that you are on the right track; the things that you plan to do sound reasonable.

Here's a suggestion that may be of some value: try to develop a routine. I mostly play live...

Re: 20-40 hand

Ice,

If you believe that raising the flop will narrow the field down to 3 of you then I would have done so. But if it won't then I like calling here.

Given that you just called the flop bet I...

Re: Something funny happened on the way to showdown

slavic,

It seems to me that raising has the potential to pick up more bets than calling in this situation. Just calling will probably only net you 1 more bet (from EP); I can't see LP calling...

Re: 20-40 How do you play this marginal hand?

Adam,

Q8s is a marginal hand for trying to steal the blinds from the CO. Given that you haven't played a hand yet adds value to the play. If the players yet to act are very tight then you have...

Re: Turn Decision

worm33,

Since you have position why not raise? If you can get the blinds to fold you may pick up some more outs by making your overcards good (in addition to your straight and flush draws).

Re: TT in the CO

slavic,

I think that it's a close call regarding your 3-bet preflop. If you thought that the raise would get the hand down to just the 3 of you then I like it; but if you had an inkling that one...

With this board there are many hands that the SB could have that beat you (2-pair being most likely) and you could be drawing somewhere between slim to dead. Unless the SB is an aggressive...

Re: tough flop 15/30

PokerHorse,

I like raising here. Your hand is too good to fold. And given the size of the pot you can't let the player to your left get a cheap draw. However I would be worried that the SB may...
