Bubble calling ranges in $11s and $22s

I've been tinkering around with SNGPT a lot lately in an effort to sharpen my game on the bubble and 5 handed before I move up to the $22s, which should be within the next few weeks. The problem that...

Back up connections / multitabling on dial up

I 10-table Party SnG's and have on multiple occasions been screwed over by my unreliable SBC DSL service which likes to just disconnect for various amounts of time when I'm on the bubble. So, I'm...

Re: Am I beat here? (QQ post flop)

since he has about 1200 more than you preflop, with a raise UTG, you should have thought about AA or KK. You should have gotten all your money in preflop, or min-raised him for a feeler bet. you...

Mid pocket pairs in EP in middle levels

I apologize for the noobish post.

Basically I'm unsure of how to play 66-99 in early position, with middle sized blinds, a stack of between 11 and 15 big blinds, and 7-9 players. For example, in...

Difficulty in the heat of battle

I've been playing NL hold em, mainly online but occasionally live, for about two years on and off. For the past year I've studied the game pretty relentlessly, read and re-read many books, and spent...

Re: A9, strange line from opponent

Huh? I didn't raise three limpers preflop- there were 6 limpers, including me. Call me crazy, but I think the board is draw heavy enough to rule out giving a free card in the hopes of trapping one of...

Re: flush with paired board, river decision

I think you should raise the flop or fold, although I lean towards folding. Calling just leaves you out of $20 still not knowing where the hell you are, and in any event the CR almost always...

Re: A9, strange line from opponent

I was on the button. This was a six max, I forgot to mention that. If you think A9 on the button is an insta-fold preflop, well I disagree, different strokes for different folks. Why in god's name...

Re: missed value with qq?

Personally I think the turn check is terrible. A set's all your worried about. In a threeway pot most players aren't going to check a set on that flop, and if they do, they'll almost certainly do it...

A9, strange line from opponent

Converter isn't working. PP $200 6 max.

Forgot the stack sizes. Hero has about $200, Villain about $180.

Re: $200 NL, getting tricky/stupid with suited connectors.

Yeah, I miscounted his outs on the flop, assuming he has an overpair. He has five. My apologies.

I need to explain something here. This is not by any means my standard line. It's not a line I'd...

Re: 5/10 KJ, how did I play this?

Haha. I never play limit, and I'm going to again tonight. I figured if there was something I didn't understand or missed about that hand, then I shouldn't go.

Thank you.

5/10 KJ, how did I play this?

Live, 7 players. Almost all are loose and bad, but this is BB's first hand. Everybody limps except for one fold. I'm on the button and I limp with KJ offsuit. BB raises, everyone calls.

Flop comes...

Re: $200 NL, getting tricky/stupid with suited connectors.

To the guy who asked if I do this all the time, no. I do it very occasionally in situations where I can confidently put my opponent on a certain range of hands, particularly hands like high PPs which...

Re: $200 NL, getting tricky/stupid with suited connectors.

It's not that I'm not taking anyone's advice, I'd just like to have a deeper discussion of the hand. Thanks for your comments. I think that while the check-min-raise may set off warning bells in his...

Re: $200 NL, getting tricky/stupid with suited connectors.

Fair enough.

I think trying to blast him off the pot with a larger check-raise represents enough strength that he'll be far more likely to lay it down, or to approach the rest of the hand more...

Re: $200 NL, getting tricky/stupid with suited connectors.

That's helpful.

If I can confidently put him on AA-TT or AK, AK (particularly AK of diamonds) is the only hand that I particularly want out of there. You think there's no merit to trying to...

Re: $200 NL, getting tricky/stupid with suited connectors.

Bah. I realize there's a draw out there, I don't care. The check-min-raise is intended to induce a push or reraise from AA, KK, QQ, maybe JJ or TT if he's that kind of guy. I'd spent some time at the...

Re: ADVICE ON HOW TO PLAY AMATURES WHO CALL ALL IN WITH K9 PREFLOP? HELP!!

With such short stacks, being extremely, ridiculously aggressive is even more important. Waiting for a "good spot" will get you killed. If you're not comfortable doing things like reraising preflop...

Re: ADVICE ON HOW TO PLAY AMATURES WHO CALL ALL IN WITH K9 PREFLOP? HELP!!

None of the plays you described are really that bad. Unless of course you only go all-in preflop with top five hands, and he still calls with KT, etc. Here's what you need to do. You can't not bluff...
