Re: A very weak hand with no action.

I think you played this hand fine. With no one showing aggression on the flop or turn I think your bets on the turn and river were good. Occasionally someone will be slowplaying an Ace, but usually...

Re: AA - What Should I Have Done Differently?

[ QUOTE ]
Knowing me, I would have checked that river as well as we now have 4 to a straight on board.

[/ QUOTE ]

That was my thinking. On another board, I would have bet the river, but here I...

Re: A 10 with top pair top kicker - throw it away at turn??

Personally, I think you should have folded A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif, T/images/graemlins/heart.gif from UTG+1 preflop.

But, to answer your question, yes you should fold this on the turn. Top...

Re: wait til turn to bet big to prevent draws?

I have to agree with DCIAce. I do not think there is much you could have done to make this guy fold. With top pair and the nut flush draw, he probably would have followed you to the river, no...

Re: Was this correct to fold here

I believe you were correct to fold here. Since the pot was not raised pre-flop, there is no way of knowing whether the flop hit someone or not. There are way too many cards that can leave you dead...

Re: A post for Ed Miller

If the turn is a Queen or a 8, you will have either four Kings and four 8's or four Queens and four 7's to make your backdoor straight. Which is 8 outs on the turn and 8 outs on the river.

If the...

Re: Too Chat or not too Chat?

I would say #3 is the way to go.

With #1, you may get too chatty and miss some of the action while you are trying to type out your next comment. Also, what if you really start to like the person,...

Re: Lies, damn lies, and statistics

[ QUOTE ]
The whole point of a bad streak is that it it not your poor play but the bad run of cards that is causing you to lose. Adjusting your game will not prevent bad streaks.

In fact one...

Re: Lies, damn lies, and statistics

I totally relate to what you are saying. Then again, in the back of my mind, the old saying "Ignorance is bliss" speaks up. I'm not sure which way to go. Some people may really be helped by stats...

Re: What hand is worth raise with in LP

If A/A and K/K are the only hands that you are raising pre-flop, you are allowing too many people to see the flop for cheap. Now I know that you will get more callers at the micro-limit tables than...

Re: Typical Streakiness?

All bad streaks will come to an end. That is if you are a decent player who knows the game. In other words, if you don't blow all your dough on long shots and gut feelings, the streak will end and...

Good Hand vs. Odds

Let me set this up. The other night, I was playing in a $10+$1 SnG. It was early in the tourny and the blinds were 15/30. In a matter of seven hands, pocket Aces were dealt four times. They won...

Re: Fold AA pre-flop?

Of course there is no way to know that four hearts are going to hit on the river or the fourth straight card. Someone could flop four of a kind, trips, or a straight flush. Anything can happen,...

Re: Trip Report : 100 - $10+$1 SNGs Version 1.0

I also have been keeping track of my wins/losses. I usually play 7-10 single-table tournaments a week(at the $10+$1 Level) and here are my stats since January 1st, 2004:

Re: AKs early in tourney

For me, it's an easy fold. Being this early in the tournament, it's just not worth the risk of a call. For all you know, this person could have raised with a pocket pair and hit trips. They might...

Re: Fold KK pre-flop?

Ahhh, this is one of the few moments in Poker that can have you pulling your hair out. Having KK preflop, is an extremely strong position. The only hand that can beat you before the flop is AA.

Re: Did I play these Trips right?

I would bet the flop myself. Especially at the micro-limit tables. Most players at the micro-limit will check trips and then bet on the turn. If you bet and get callers, they most likely will stay...
