Re: Scuba_Curtains: AK hand 2

[ QUOTE ]

Are there really quite a few players at the $215's that are precisely this tight (namely never open-raising with AQ from EP?) You've played more $215s than I have, so maybe...

Re: Multi-way pot with a flopped straight-flush draw

If one of the five players has two overcards, one of which is a club, they're tied with you. If someone has a straight or flush, you're behind (with four people in the pot, the chances of someone...

Re: Multi-way pot with a flopped straight-flush draw

I push. It takes a very special hand to be ahead of us here. Namely, a better hand and a better draw or a set, and there's tons of dead money in the pot.

Re: Multi-way pot with a flopped straight-flush draw

I don't understand why you and some of the others just assume you have so many outs. With so many people in the pot, can't someone already have a higher flush, leaving you with one or maybe two outs?...

Re: Calling raises early on with PP to hit sets?

Thanks. The other factor that ICM doesn't account for is that GOOD players can use a big stack to gain more chips, which could shift the balance towards good players taking this =EV situation and in...

Re: Calling raises early on with PP to hit sets?

This is very interesting, but I have one other question. Let's say you lose 100 chips 9 times, but another time you win 1,000 (not saying with the specific situation of a pp, but just a...

Re: Paul Phillips post on his website about 2+2

Like I said before, I think banning him was ridiculous. At the same time, his comments from his blog are really churlish, and his justification of his Nazi line is just wrong. SO yeah, he does come...

Re: I moved up and immeditately got hammered

I think the problems in moving up levels are as much psychological as they are ability related. At least that was the deal in my case, as it always took me a little while to feel comfortable at a new...

Re: Are all Paul Phillips threads locked?

There's been other threads that have gone on waaaaay longer than this one on topics waaaay more banal that had waaaay less to do with the 2 2 community. But those other topics didn't directly...

Re: My Reason and Phillips Poll

[ QUOTE ]
Wow. Banning a poster of PP's stature is just plain dumb to do. This forum will only suffer for it.

And if he wanted to post here, I;m sure he knows far many more ways to get back in...

Re: My Reason and Phillips Poll

OK, more correct would be after he was threatened with a banning and asked to appologize. Better?

Re: I\'m very sorry

About that, I agree 100%. That to me was just stupid and wrong. But that was also done after the fact, and doesn't really have anything to do with whether Paul should have/should not have been banned.

If you have a suggestion for the way you think he should run things, feel free to make it in a mature and civil way, and he may or may not listen to you.

Re: My Reason and Phillips Poll

The comment he made about Nazi youth was wrong. It was also done AFTER the banning, not before. His comments about Dynasty hardly seemed like a personal attack to me, but were more Paul's oppinions...

Re: I\'m very sorry

Revisionism. I hate Nazi stuff as much as anyone, but first he was banned, then he made the comment. You make it sound like it was the other way around. I think Paul's comment at the end was wrong....

Re: I\'m very sorry

Shame on both Mason and Mat for over-reacting and banning someone for giving his opinion.

Re: My Reason and Phillips Poll

Unless Paul made a completely different post that I missed, banning him was absolutely ridiculous. Disagree with him? Fine. But there's no way what I read of his can be construed as a personal...

Re: Party not letting me play at table with my friend

Good for Party. No offense, but I don't want two people playing on the same computer to play at the same table. Maybe in your case it's legitimate, but as a rule, it's a good one and it should not be...

Re: icm helps a lot or not much at all???

It's great for high blind push/fold play. If you play around with it enough you start to need it left, because you get to the point where you can come pretty close to the right move instinctively....

Re: Official word on Party SnG with VIP

I four table the 109s and 215s. I give Party Poker between 4-6K a month in rake. And a lot of 215 2+2ers give them a lot more than I do.

I think one of them likely has a set too, although weirder things have happened in a 22 than you being up against a straight draw, flush draw, and an overpair lower than yours (the third guy in...

Re: how good is your average winning 109er???

I think sometimes it just takes a bit to adjust mentally to playing at higher stakes. I remember when I first moved from the 55s to the 109s and then when I added the 215s, I always felt intimidated...
