Would it make sense to raise the flop when it comes back to us? We have two overcards, a gutshot and could use a K or A(non heart) to bet out on the turn. We could eliminate the two behind us and...

Too passive w/ flopped set?
No real reads yet. I'm concerned that 4th and 5th street are too passsive. When so many overcards and a str8 draw appear and there being the raise before the flop, I got scared.

I'm a newbie so take it for what it's worth...
This happens to me mostly when I've been stealing frequently. They call me down and hit an overcard. In this situation, I usually fold.

I don't like the flop raise. You want everyone in. I think if you call here instead of raise, UTG+1 calls and CO leads the turn. Since yo raised, gotta bet the turn. River play is good.(Of course)

Agreed. I will almost always bet here. Esp 2 flush/str8 cards. Just pointing out it might be close call with only two others in the hand, small pot.

I understand that. What I am trying to figure out is when and how should I be deviating from the pre-flop hand charts? Not being an advanced player, I find myself using the hand charts exclusively....

Why is everyone saying fold pre-flop? SSHE says play any two suited from sb with no raise.
I seem to follow the pre-flop hand charts pretty strictly. Should I not do this?...

Cap it -- I think I'm way ahead here. Even vs str8, pleanty outs to boat/quads by river. Probably against A9 or 98.

Might not, but I feel I play better when I take the aggressive approach. If I get called on the flop bet, I would probably check/fold UI on the turn. If I get raised on the flop bet, probably fold....

On hands similar to this, I would usually bet the flop. I don't know why but I would not think to c/r this. Small pot, not giving good odds to anyone by doing this. I might fold everyone.

flop- Raise(I'm not giving him credit for a K yet)
turn- if called on flop, bet/fold to a re-raise.
river- if called on turn and checked to me check.
