Good LAG play or dumb?

Taking a brief swing at 100NL. Villain is 65/12 over not-very-many hands, seems like a calling station postflop. I had had awful cards and decided to LAG it up a little here to fight off the rock...

18+ casinos close to Charlottesville VA?

My roommate and I are thinking of roadtripping to a casino if there's one where we can play within a reasonable distance of here. How far are we going to end up driving?

Is this stat as ugly as it looks?

Over my first 2000 hands of 25NL 6-max, PT says I'm $150 in the red on my one-pair hands. When I open it up to all levels (a little 25NL full ring and about 600 of 50NL 6-max) that becomes a...

Why I chat sometimes (lc)

Villain is a 96/71. Absolutely unbelievable maniac. I spent a good two hours kidding him in the chat instead of multitabling because I knew this would happen eventually.

(ps- love the river...

Re: Another 25NL table up (courtesy of Jcardshark) Pass = 2plus2

Really fun game. Reraising BobboFitos with 56s and then 52o was worth the price of admission. Thanks guys

Just need a quick checkup on my line here. I successfully got him to represent exactly what he had and then... I don't know... my brain lost track of what my fingers were doing. If I just made the...

Steal goes horribly awry (6max)

Villain is 50%/5%/2.67. Haven't seen him do anything really wild.

AK hits flop, should I milk it or take it down?

I don't have a specific hand, this is a general concern that seems to come up once or twice in a session. When I raise AK preflop and hit something great like K82r, if it's checked around to me...

Re: Um. Easy fold here?

Even weirder than that. He turned over pocket deuces. I dragged $88 on what I feel was a terrible call. Sometimes poker is funny...

sorry

I know this is the 10th or so post I've made this week on hands that are probably pretty trivial to the regulars here. But I'm literally brand-new at playing the kind of poker that's discussed here...

Um. Easy fold here?

$20 NL, .20 BB. Absolutely wild game, I just tripled up with AK vs. 55 vs. A7. I'm at $70 which is the biggest stack I've ever held at a table and I'm playing maybe a little nervous because of that....

monster and position?

What's the best way to jam a pot when you're on the button and someone's betting into you? For example I had AK on the button today, raised and got called in five places, flopped KK2 and got bet into...

nut set, can\'t get paid

I have a horrible bitch of a time getting paid on my sets. Here's an example. .10/.20 NL. BB and I both have about $18, he's a big fish.

Folded to me with QQ in MP. I make it $1 to go and BB...

Re: Small suited connectors = bad idea?

Wow, 26% is loose in 10 handed ring NL? Is that still true in a horrible loose-passive $10 game? I haven't been playing that tight in part because I don't want to look like a rock and loose the...

Small suited connectors = bad idea?

It just occurred to me that small suited connectors may be a big leak in my 10-handed ring game strategy. In micro-NL the players are so loose that if there are two more of the same suit as mine out...

Re: First ever NL hand i\'m posting - go easy

I think that turn bet represents a lot of strength. If he had put you on a draw after the flop action, he would have been able to kill your draw with a lot less than a pot bet. I think he's telling...

Re: First ever NL hand i\'m posting - go easy

I'm assuming he had KJs. Obviously raising more preflop would have saved you this headache. Potting the flop would have probably saved you the headache again... betting 2/3 let him freeze you up with...

Re: Im a lucky card catcha

Kudos to the CO on getting sucked out. He should be embarrassed that he gave you the odds to call a gutshot.

I wonder if I'd have fared better in his shoes. I'd have bet about pot or a little less...

Re: Preflop discussion

Soah, the AJ thing has been bothering me. I never seem to know how to play AJo and ATo from any position. (when they're suited I limp for their great implied odds, is that right?) I tend to...

Running ridiculously hot?

I made the decision to start playing to win (as opposed to just gambling, wasting time, whatever) only a few days ago. I've played a solid tight game on the Royal Vegas .05/.10 tables since then and...

No complaining, I thought it was funny and I hope they keep calling their 5-1 dogs. Just a pretty piss-poor first MoH experience /images/graemlins/confused.gif

move of honor... low content

Royal Vegas .05/.10. First hand at a new table, I post from a couple seats off the button and am rather excited to see AA. There are a few limpers so I decide to try the move of honor. Sure enough I...
