Re: It\'s Been A Meh Day For Me

Do you always raise to 18? I think that large of a raise makes it seem a little more like a steal. Tough call with no read...I probably fold and keep an eye on him.

If you're first to act and wait to push the flop regardless then you get that party poker magic working for you. It's called mixing up your play.

Some things to consider here:

Leading out the flop lets villian off the hook when he has overs and plays weak tight (common at this level). He will simply fold when I could have...

thoughts on variance, buying in short, maximizing EV

(this post was written before I played any hands with the new stacks)

I have mixed feelings about Party's move to 100 bb stacks. On the one hand: great! more postflop skills required and less...

I think I would have played it exactly the same way as UTG with 55. Comments?

Re: Thoughts on stack sizes vs player skill, etc...

I'd much rather play with a fish with 2x buyin than one with 1/2 buyin. And from my experience (mainly NL50.....and to lesser extent on NL100) the people with big stacks are fish a lot more often...

Re: KQo / making the move: Party NL50 to NL100

You're kind of right. Depends on the flush draw that he has...if he has the nut flush draw then yes, he does have 12 outs but otherwise he only has 9.

Re: KQo / making the move: Party NL50 to NL100

I usually go anywhere from 2/3 pot - pot just depending on table texture and my image. They don't have odds either way, it's probably just a personal preference. I also pick up a lot of missed flops...

Re: AA in NL50 6-max game. 3 callers.

Sounds like you're trying to get too tricky with AA. I might very rarely make this play heads up but there's no way I'm doing this in a 3-way pot.

You'll be good here most of the time. Bet the...

KQo / making the move: Party NL50 to NL100

Made the move to NL100 about a week ago after a good number of hands at NL50. I've been running very well so far (only about 2200 hands) but this hand got me thinking:

Re: *Official* 10+1R PokerStars Thread

300 of 333 at the break. Made a dumb play with T9s or else I would be sitting pretty nicely. On table 67.

Also 166 of 292 on Table 4 in the 20+2.

I think I've seen you around but just don't join the table. Played with Sponger a couple times though and did the whole brown trout thing.

Re: AA on monotone flop

Glad to see a couple people said push. Obviously I didn't like a check here and I didn't really like a pot sized bet either as that would leave me with about $20 in a $60 pot on the turn...plus it...

AA on monotone flop

What should be the standard line here? The pot is pretty big relative to 2 of our stacks. Button's PF stats are 45/3 and SB is in at a whopping 77/2.5

Re: AA Woes (P* 1/2)

You need to decide whether you're playing this for your stack before the river. I think the minraise on the flop means one of two things: you are very behind to a set or he's testing your autobet...

Re: Please send me in the right direction

I don't think there is a "Bible" for NLHE per se (the way that SSHE/HPFAP may be for limit). This forum is probably the most comprehensive resource for how to play Small Stakes NLHE. Read posts, ask...
