Luxor Sit-N-Go\'s?

Does anyone know how bad the rake is on the new Sit-N-Go games at the Luxor?

The vig on those small freezeouts they've had for years is ridiculous, but one can always hope the new game will be...

Re: Security at Garden City (San Jose, CA)

Do they still share a parking lot with a massage parlor?

The place seemed safe when I played there occasionaly in the late 90's, but the massage parlor out back was a bit odd.

Re: Any Garden City Stud/8 players?

[ QUOTE ]

I love the game, but I cringe whenever I remember I'm playing the equivalent of 50 cents/hand to play 3/6 poker. ($1 ante, $4 rake taken immediately at a full table = 50 cents in the...

Re: NL in Minneapolis

[ QUOTE ]

A little off topic here but I've seen some joints do a 5-150 spread limit because they can't have NL. It's usually a 2/5 blind or similar structure with just a max bet of 150. Most...

Re: Stud/8 in Vegas?

Is the Friday 3/6 stud/8 at the Palace Station officially RIP? The guy at the desk in August told me it hadn't gone in a year, but I played there in January so something's wrong with his story.

Re: Stud with a kill

[ QUOTE ]
I used to deal a stud High Low Game with a version of a kill. They called it the Hoggy game. It was 2-10 (2-20 on the end) double qualifier 8 or better for low 2 pair or better for...

Re: Prairie Meadows - Des Moines, IA

Out of curiosity, has Prairie Meadows driven the cardroom in Tama out of business?

Re: Vegas in December.

Those Luxor is not a great room, well beneath the MGM. The only positives about the room: good scenery walking past the rail, they used to spread stud/8 tournaments, well OK, that was 7/8 years ago.

PS- you realize it's well nigh impossible to beat vegas rake/ tips/ drinks (don't pretend you're not gonna order drinks) this low, yes?

Re: Treasure Island, Red Wing, MN-Trip Report

5-60 spread limit? I didn't know spread limit ever came with that wide of a spread. Sounds like it'd play like a pot limit game.

Re: Treasure Island, Red Wing, MN-Trip Report

On the board, I believe they had everything up to 30/60 stud h/l listed, but the chances of that game ever going are probably good as my chances of quitting drinking in the next month.

Re: the best stud advice from Andy B

Andy B's advice on that stud high hand is "nut's on", but card catching is even more important in stud/8. A good player can take (3,4)5 and turn it into a hogger, while a less experienced player...

Re: crazy ante structure in Stud8 on party

The 2/4 game ante is reasonable, but the others are too high. I've never seen 2/4 stud/8 B&M, but the low limit stud/8 I've played B&M has been 3/6 with .25 and 4/8 with .50. The 3/6 had a half kill...

Re: Any \"trout\" zone in Vegas ?

For low limit HE close to the Monte Carlo, try MGM or Excalibur. The MGM 3/6 had some of the worst players I've ever seen. The Excalibur 2/6 spread limit had plenty of lousy players, but some...
