Re: Playalong JJ

this seems to me like the easiest check in the world. i am very interested in hearing why it might not be. maybe some think it should be "easy" to fold to a c/r, but I don't like putting myself in...

Re: winner at 20/40, loser at 30/60?

Re: when protecting the bb goes horribly wrong

against someone this aggressive, folding any river is a pretty big mistake, IMO. i'd probably check, call any non-A,J river, and checkraise those.

Re: when protecting the bb goes horribly wrong

You can absolutely not fold this hand. Pretty much any line that doesn't include folding is fine. An ag of 2.9 is very, very high, especially with a vpip of 27.

Re: turn spot

i think what this thread needs is some math to make us all feel good about our instinct that this is very close. if he's behind, he may have 1-6 outs, with 5 or 6 being most likely. so by just...

Re: turn spot

i'd 3bet, and be perfectly happy with him folding his two or three outer. or capping his hand against which i have 9-11 outs. lead the river on any non-pair diamond. maybe bet/call an A?

Re: Playing -EV in high stakes = +EV?

You're misunderstanding Joe's point, probably because his first sentence isn't exaclty correct. The point is that expectation is situational, so where a play might be -EV in one situation, it might...

Re: A hypothetical situation: OOP vs. an agressive opponent

I was actually pondering this very issue this morning. Against a steal from a slovenian, I really hate folding after 3betting, except for on particulalry scary boards. I got into these situations...

Re: betting rhythms

I think more generally what he's talking about is where, over the course of a session, a certain action has grown to develop new meaning. As an example, in a HU match where BU wil raise every time...

Re: huge pot river donk 50/100

yeah I really don't know how I bet the river, I certainly didn't think it was going to win me the pot. CO folded, BU called, and MHIG. So there's the punchline I guess.

Re: huge pot river donk 50/100

Yeah I definitely fold this river 100% of the time. The donk was a combination misclick/$100 joke i was telling myself/subconcious sadistic thought that it well confuse the hell out of those two.
