Re: How to play AK against shortstacks

you are almost certainly a coin flip almost all the time, and he's raising a worse ace more often than he's raising AA and KK...that makes this a push to me.

Re: ($50 NL) How cheaply can you get away from this QQ in the bb?

difficult spot with no reads. I'd lead that flop for $11...see what happens. Don't play at bodog so I don't know how donkish they are compared to party.

Re: Flopped nuts turns to scary huge pot

I'd probably raise the flop. However, I think it's unlikely that SB is overbetting the pot on a flush draw. I think hero should worry more about a board pairing than a flush here. With MP yet to...

Re: How badly did I play this AA?

raise more preflop, other than that it's fine. You want to raise 4xbb plus 1 for each limper, so your raise should have been to 1.5...other than that, this is fine.

Re: I screwed this river up. But how bad?

I might bet a little more....your bet looks like a blocker and because of that it might get raised. Since you reraised preflop he has to think it's possible you've got the K...

Re: fire the third barrel?

well the reason I call is for a couple of things. I think my hand is best...but I don't reraise. He is not expecting me to wake up with AQ here...not to mention that the preflop raiser folded to my...

Re: TPWK from the BB on somewhat coordinated flop?

i bet. If I get more than 1 caller, I slow down. If I get 1 caller and the flush doesn't hit on the turn I fire again. If he calls again I make a blocker on the river. Just how I play it...not...

Re: fire the third barrel?

I'm mostly a SnG player just getting back into ring games, but am I the only one that folds this preflop?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not folding AQ in a 6max game for .50 cents. These smallish...

Re: Call this river?

[ QUOTE ]
If you check to induce a bluff then you must call. I usually prefer a little stronger hand to make that play but if your read is correct your hand will be good most of the time and the...

Re: fire the third barrel?

ok...just wanted to check my play here. I debated whether to check/call or just go ahead and bet. I thought if he had the flush I was calling a push, and if he didn't have the flush, but had a hand...

Re: Soda or Pop ???

In Texas, we pretty much call it all coke.

The conversation goes like this. "Would you like a coke?" if they say yes, then you ask "what kind?"

If you go to a restaurant and you order a coke,...

Call this river?

Ok I don't have very many hands on this opponent but he has turn and river agression over 5. He has bet weird a lot of times. I suspect he isn't always doing this with premium hands. I checked the...

Re: Please tell me this was standard play. AA no read.

pretty standard.....villains are raising draws on a board like that quite a bit...typically i'll play back at them as well. If you run into two pair you have outs, if they have a set it just sucks.

Re: Overbet fullhouse again.

delete the 'texas' from the NL texas holdem at the top of the hand history in the converter...that will fix your jacked up action.

seems pretty standard if you put him on a King.....I will try...

Re: Overbet with fullhouse when thought they had flush for sure

pretty much exactly how i'd play it. If he has A9 or AK then he's getting my money.

Re: AKs TPTK

I'm surprised this comment hasn't come up yet.

I HATE that turn raise. What is your plan if he pushes over the top of you? Don't raise when you can't call a push. If you are behind to two pair,...

QQ preflop decision against a perceived donkey

Alright, i've been running into a rash of these guys at the 25 nl tables. Their standard opening raise is 8-12x bb instead of 4x. Basically they are turning the table into the old 50bb tables...

fire the third barrel?

No real reads on opponent here. I never reraise AQ out of the blinds..i'm assuming that's debatable but standard for me. I guess I shouldn't say never, i'll do it against perceived steals and...

Re: 100NL full: Opponent is good and loose and capable of anything...

I probably bet less on the river, like $10 or $15 expecting a minraise from the typical donk if I'm behind or he has a hand he thinks is good.....that way I'm not calling $50. You'd be amazed how...

Re: a few hands I\'m not proud of

I really think he's got something like 9T. He figures the only way he is going to get value is by doing something zany like this...looks like it worked.

Re: AA Easy Fold?

I think lots of people are on xmas break so you are getting fewer responses.

Onto the hand. this is an excellent spot for him to make this play. That's as scary a flop as you can have for AA,...

Re: slowplayed AA hand

I don't think he'll call an all in with JJ, maybe QQ, and for sure KK, so I think he might fold 2 out of the 3 to agression, especially if the flop comes scary and i've reraised. Even party donks...
