This is a clear +EV call, unless 88 litterally had no money of interest in the pot (i.e. 1BB). Either way if you fold you're passing on a very +EV gamble (off the top of my head a ~20% net profit).

The only way you can fold AA is if you knew for certain that these were the hands you were up against (i.e. they were accidentally flipped up before you made your move). But since this never really...

Out of curiosity, could you please elaborate on the scenario which has lead you to ask this question? I personally have never seen this debated for a ring game before.
