Re: terrible flop, am i taking this to showdown?

I play a little differently, I would bet the flop, call the raise, wait for a safe turn and river(check/call the turn) and raise the river if no diamond hits. If 3-bet call.

Re: AKo improves on river....raise?

Sure I would go ahead and raise, and then call if there is a 3-bet.

Re: HU against a decent opponent in the blinds

I would definately pop him on the turn or river. If on the turn and he 3-bets, I would call and check call the river. If on the river you raise, I would call the 3-bet. This hand was played poorly.

Re: Cutting your session short? Look here!

Why would you want to cut sessions short? The more you play the more you win. Poker is one long game so stop when you want, not have some timer judge for you.

I raise the flop right away.

Re: AK heads-up that makes me sick

If he is passive and raises all of a sudden from UTG I would put him immediately on AA KK QQ or JJ. I'm sure you are beat here PF. If I knew the opponent better in that specific 6-max game I might...

Re: OESFD, continue the semibluff OOP?

I honestly think the button will goto a showdown, unless the flush card hits, never know need a read on him.

Re: OESFD, continue the semibluff OOP?

The way the buttong raised the flop isn't fun and I do not think he is folding to a bet on the turn.

Re: OESFD, continue the semibluff OOP?

3 betting the flop is dangerous, and the button isn't folding on the turn, so to answer your question i would check/call this turn fold the river if you don't hit. If there were more players I would...

Re: AKo what do you think?

I like it you have a redraw to the nuts. I would check call the rest of the way. of he checks the turn I bet the river. If a spade comes thats a no brainer.

Re: Do you fall for temptation on some cards?

Well to answer your question, no, I do not get tempted, it would be a sin. You have to play like a robot lol.

Re: Do you fall for temptation on some cards?

You have to train yourself to fold these hands when these situations arise, unless the pot is big like for that small pp in late lets say and there was a pf raiser with like 6 people in you will get...

Re: how much looser should you play in short handed games?

btw to answer your question, you play a lot looser. 6 handed is in between long and short, so just tweak your game to fit it. try to play like you do in a long handed game but be more prone to steal...

Re: how much looser should you play in short handed games?

yea remember in a 6 handed game if you feel you are playing way too tight, you might just be better off playing full. Also on a note, about defending your blinds: against a LP raiser Button or CO if...

Re: Playing live is stupid - KK

check/call pot is way too big to lay it down. If he does have an A oh well you lose if he doesn't then good for you, congrats, I'm assuming u lost this hand though by the way the title of the post is.

Re: K10 in BB - you paying this off?

easy check fold on the turn. reason being a bet a raise and he even reraises means a lot, he could have the straight or even a set. dangerous board to be calling all the way

Re: Two pair on a draw heavy board, cant price anyone out...

yea i think it is fine using WA/WB is pretty powerful. I wouldnt raise anywhere on this nasty board. .5/1 players are terrible and they can have anything, even like a 6 high flush.

Re: 98o in BB, top pair on ragged flop, crazy action

It's an easy lay down, SB waking up here could mean a set 2 pair or a draw. You are ahead of the draw but what about 2 pair and the set, Personally I'm not liking the SB waking up all of a sudden.

Re: Should I have gotten the point...

I'm fairly sure you are behind, unless you know he will bet that 5 or 3 and be aggressive as he will to bet the J. I think laying it down to the 3-bet is ok, or you could have use WA/WB.

Re: A Hand Played by a Colleague

Yea I think I would raise the turn here for info, if he does have that flush I'm sure he would 3-bet, giving the hint to fold. If no more diamonds come I'm calling it down.

Re: Check/Call, Check/Call, Bet...?

Re: Check/Call, Check/Call, Bet...?

I think it would depend on what villian would 3-bet with. But had it been a short handed game I would have capped PF lead the flop if raised cc the whole rest of the way.

Re: Give me a line

3-bet and re-evaluate on the turn, he could be just betting the J.
