Re: How safe are you behind a router?

A router doesn't protect you from anything unless it's a router with a built-in firewall. Even with a hardware firewall, it's a good idea to have a software firewall as well.

Not quite...

Re: hypothetical 5/10 overcard, nice turn, what do u do now, hand...qu

I call down. Smells like he slow-played a flopped set. Can't see a solid player cold-calling pf with Ax. There's a chance he has something like AJ-AQ.

Re: KJo in MP --- I\'m getting crushed playing KJ

I usually wouldn't open limp with KJo. I'm either raising or folding. Post-flop looks ok.

Re: 2 pair aginast the big blind

Don't understand the turn check behind. Bet the turn, raise the river.

Re: Best Jacksonville Cruise?

La Cruise has been shut down last time I checked. Sun Cruz usually has a 5/10 game going on the weekends except for Sunday when they hold a weekly $100 no-limit tourney.

Re: J2s in the BB

Pre-flop call is fine. I would call in that spot with any suited cards.

Re: AQs -- huge pot, what is the right line on the turn?

You're playing like a maniac. 3-bet the flop with one overcard and back-door flush? The turn raise is not necessary bad but of course you realize it's probably going to be capped back to you.

Re: Mr Brier - I respectfully disagree

I agree in part to what you say but I like the way Brier played this hand even though he did get lucky on the river. The maniac's cap pre-flop doesn't give you any useful info. A true maniac would...

Re: Dealing w/ first big downswing.

True, especially if it's just a bad run of cards and if you gone through big down swings before, but oblivously it's bothering him quite a bit. Likely even affecting his play.

Re: Dealing w/ first big downswing.

It's a good idea to take some time off and re-evaluate your play. Moving up limits then playing short-handed is not a good idea especially if you lack experience playing short-handed. Also, these...

River play w/ KTs

No reads. River is a scare card. I leaning towards betting out and folding to a raise. Thoughts?

Re: Treading water online

[ QUOTE ]
I've been playing for around 12 months, at limits from $1-$2 to, more recently, $4-$8 and $5-10. I have noticed that I can consistently beat the games for $20 - $80 per hour, depending on...

Re: To raise or not to raise to see the flop.

With a small pocket pair in a loose table, you're looking to see the flop cheaply to try to flop a set. Limp-raising here makes no sense. Usually it's done with a big pocket pair at a tight table to...

Re: WTF hand of the day - bad fold?

You should at least call one bet on the river. I would have bet out on the river instead of checking. No one has shown any strength at all.

Re: Vegas Poker Rates

I don't think it'll be hard to get a room but probably more expensive. There's some decent hotels on the strip for reasonable prices. Give them a call to find their poker room rate.

Re: players who limp and fold to a raise preflop

Where do you play at? I almost never see that even at low limits, although I did it once myself when I accidently hit the wrong button.
