Re: ESPN story - poker image takes a hit
Exactly. Ferguson is talking about gambling and using mathematics to uncover -EV. The fact that the article's author did not point this out is probaly because he is anti-poker, for some reason. I...

Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans Poker Room
I've played in Tunica, Biloxi, and now New Orleans and I can honestly say they treat the poker players much, much better in both Tunica and Biloxi.
Game selection, as far as limits, will be better...

Re: I still find it hard to believe...
Here's my 2 cents worth....
I believe that poker is still becoming more popular, and people just absolutely love to gamble. The younger generation is no different, and poker is now acceptable. ...

Re: daryn . . .
Hey, TSP, I'll be there in a couple of weeks, actually probably next Saturday night. Does the 20-40 run all the time, or does it start at a certain time of the day, or does it run some days and not...

Re: Trip Report Harrah\'s New Orleans (too long)
You're right. We thought we were being smart because the tourney was in town that week. We were sure there'd be a 30-60 going, with some pretty poor play. As it turned out I decided to play poorly...

Re: Best place to play poker
The best place to play, by far IMO, Is the Horseshoe In Tunica, Ms. At least it used to be.
They charge you $25 for a room per night, will pick you up at the airport, and they comp you for every...

Re: Trip Report Harrah\'s New Orleans (too long)
Yes, I'm thinking you may be right. It was a bad play. I was out of position, I had nothing, but I guess they had nothing either.
It was just so bizarre, the whole weekend was just weird. I...

Trip Report Harrah\'s New Orleans (too long)
Let me start off by saying that the 4 dat trip to New Orleans, from Jax Fl, seemed like such a good idea when we decided to do it... but it went so wrong. Let me explain.
One of our party had a...

Re: Crazy action..request comments
I think what everyone is saying is this....
Sometimes you just have to call and pay off what you are pretty sure is a winner for someone else. That's why a bet on the end, by you, is a good play. ...

Re: How do you join the crew?
I've often wondered if fans were being racist when they became disenchanted with the young black man who paraded around the end zone after scoring a touchdown, and yet those same fans would remark...

Re: what does \"outplay\" mean?
I've always heard to "outplay" someone is to make them lay down a hand that would otherwise beat you at the showdown. This is a very impractical concept in the smaller limit games in which two or...

Re: step up to the Turning Stone 30-60.
I'll be coming home (Near Watertown) at the end of this month. I plan on stopping by Turning Stone. Hopefully the 30-60 will be rolling on Saturday night. Maybe I'll run into you.

Horrible 15-30 play
I'm BB and I call one raise with J4h, one other caller besides me and the raiser. Bad play #1.
Flop comes A-3-9 with one heart. I check, MP checks, raiser bets, and I call (why? I'm not sure),...

Re: So, I guess it\'s not so bad
Because I've been a consistent winner since I started playing. The 150BB win in vegas was incredible, and I wouldn't expect to do that everytime I played. What I'm saying, by writing the post, is...

When you say you're losing a lot of money is it because you are chasing the flushes with just three to a flush after the flop? If you have four to a flush after the flop then you should be making...

Amalyze this mess of a dream
I play poker, a lot, usually 4 to 5 times a night in a 15-30 holdem and Omaha8 game. I've been losing lately, no big deal, and last night I had a good sized win.
That's the background, now here's...
